MY Twilight moment is in the first movie where Bella feels compelled to "investigate". Girl literally googles the location of a bookstore over an hour away, scams a ride from her friends, ditches them first opportunity, buys a single book, skims it briefly, landing on the words "cold ones", and immediately returns to google for investigation. Like what was the point of the book, babes?? That and the google images "vampire baby" investigation in BD.

I know that Rosalie seems like a biyatch, and the movie does nothing for her story, but I soooo get her. She's a realist. She has a strong sense of self. She's self-aware and independent, kind and loyal. So the moment Rose breaks a glass bowl (when Bella says no to dinner) and walks over it in her amazing heels is just iconic. They made her a diva, a shallow blonde, an ice queen, but she is easily the smartest of the bunch, most sane, down-to-earth, and resilient.

Hahaha my parents literally bought me Breaking Dawn for my bday my Senior year of HS 2009. These books shaped the next few years of my life -- bonus points for the fact that I now own so many Bella wardrobe pieces (that blue jacket from the first film, her UGGs from New Moon, the green corduroy New Moon branded jacket from Hot Topic 2010, and henleys like nobody's business, -- oh and that gd comforter on her bed) that I sought out in stores at the time that I could now make a killing selling them LOL.

I watched the last film when it released in theatres at the midnight showing in 2011 -- while living in Seattle as a 19 year old. I cannot even tell you how absolutely completely obsessed with this story I was. I'd have to say the Roman Empire moment for me was the f*cking scene LOL.... man when we finally got there... we sure got there. I will never NOT be disappointed that I don't see sparkles and have a completely shredded bedframe afterward *sigh* lol. The other scene that always comes to me is when Bella and Jacob are working on her bike & she turns of the radio & says "I don't really like music...anymore". Kills me every time.

I read Twilight in my late 20s, and i did feel the teenage girl voice/pov of the story was accurate. The last book had me DYING of all the (unintentional?intentional?) funny. If you take it for camp, it is mos def high art 😊

I wish I had participated in the Twilight hype back in the day, but I was a little too young to read the books when they first came out, and by the time the movies came out I was a complete "not like other girls" girl and thought they were stupid :( by now I've seen the movies and I'm reading the books, so at least I can be a fan now that Twilight is cool again

In all honesty Charlie I don't think you were necessarily being jealous, you were being realistic... just on a slightly less empathetic side of the spectrum. Like I might have grown up ugly too, but I have those thoughts not because I think she is pretty and undeserving of love but because I think she is pretty AND deserving of ACTUAL love. Like the Girlie really needed someone to tell her that hetero cis men attention isn't going to solve her self image issues. Loads of therapy and genuine human connection will (be it from an hetero cis man or not). Some pretty people really need to hear that their value as a human isn't dependent on how many people want to shag them and if someone loves you they love YOU not just your youth and beauty. She probably was so obsessed with turning into a vampire ASAP because she genuinely believes that being young and pretty are the only things she could ever offer... though I find even more depressing that real people still think that way.
