I’m so glad Astro is feeling better! You had every right to feel upset! A sick dog is distressing. I am probably not going to be popular for this opinion but I truly am sharing it because I care. Although it could be unrelated, many of the symptoms Astro had, along with the elevated white cell counts, are common in dogs on a raw meat diet. I really encourage you to reconsider raw food diet. It doesn’t mean that you have to use kibble! Balanced gently cooked home prepared meals are an option! The risks of raw food diets, to your dog and yourself, are not worth the supposed benefits. It’s my 2 cents and everyone is welcome to take it or leave. I’m glad Astro was back to his hose chasing self!

Poor Baby!! It breaks my heart when the "littles" aren't feeling well. I totally understand, too, the anxiousness it causes. I would be in the same shoes. My Skylar has become to be my best friend and support. We look forward to future videos.

I am so glad Astro is okay!! I completely relate to you when my service dog gets sick and the thought of losing him even though he is only 2. I think we just love them so much and hate seeing them unwell. I think we just gotta remind ourselves that we are doing the best we can for them and we are good dog moms! ❤

Oh my goodness. I completely understand. My dog had pancreatitis and when the vet told me he had that i SOBBBEDDDD even though it was extremely mild

U were not being overly dramatic! My 1st SD had sm amt of bld in her stool (on a sund) - no other symptoms. The next am I was scrambling to get a vet appt (our vet had just retired & the referral vet couldn’t see her for 1 1/2 wks). Finally got an appt & the new vet that had never seen her before said “she looks fine to me”. ..had to almost beg 4 X-rays & lab! He gave us antibiotics & something 4 her stomach (to make ME feel better!) pretty much the same results w/a 2nd vet…by the time I got a 3rd opinion- she was sick & was hospitalized. At the end of 6 wks, I was in thousands of $ in debt & my precious pup still died (& no could tell me why). Our SDs r w/us 24/7 & we can pick up on slight changes that can be important (like when ur kid is getting sick). I’m so grateful that I took her to the vet right away so @ least I couldn’t beat myself up for delaying care that could have saved her. Healing prayers to u & Astro!🐾

In my opinion, you're not being dramatic. Blood in vomit is pretty alarming and can be a sign of something more serious. And I've definitely been anxious over tiny issues my dog has, I think it stems from my heart dog dying suddenly and it being traumatic. So now I overthink every tiny little thing that I think is off with my dog. Glad it's not something more serious, though! He looks like nothing is up, seems like an Aussie thing to do. Lol

I hope this doesn’t mean that he may need to be retired as a service dog. Do you have any idea how he could have gotten stomach ulcers? (I tend to always cry if my either of my dogs get sick. My older dog just passed and all her life I was scared she’d randomly drop ☠️ too. We have nationwide pet insurance. I wonder which one is better)

Stomach ulcers will heal with time and meds, so there wouldn't be a reason to retire.

Do you ever consider giving your dog a raw diet my dogs kept getting sick because they kept eating dry kibble and it made them sick all the time it cause skin problems and throwing up so I started feeding my German Shepherd raw chicken and he stopped I can give you instructions on what to do❤

Hi hi!! Astro rarely gets sick, this was very out of the blue. Yes, we do feed astro a raw diet, you'll see a bunch of videos i've made about it :) !! We love our chicken feet :)
