Listen! I just started Don’t Cry For Me today and I’m quite literally obsessed. I knew I wanted to tackle it in February and I’m so happy to start off the month with a book that seems like it’s going to be 5 stars. Love that we both wanted to go to and got in to Clark Atlanta University. Hearing you speak about Isaac Song has me wanting to read it immediately after Don’t Cry For Me. Wow! I just read Don’t Cry for Me in one sitting and all I can say is remarkable. I am like you, as The Reformatory was my favorite book of the last year but this book was like I was sitting at my father’s feet listening to his life. I’m on to Isaac’s Story now. The first book I read and loved by Daniel Black was Perfect Peace. I have Don't cry for me on Kindle from Libby and I got Isaac's song from BOTM. I can't wait to get into them both.

We have a black owned ice cream shop here that does unique ice cream sundae pairings. They have one with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and you can pick the flavor of ice cream for it. It’s so good!!! Butter Pecan is undefeated!

I absolutely LOVE @DezmondZee! Don’t Cry For Me is definitely one of my favorite books ever. Perfect Peace by Dr. Daniel Black is also one of my favorites of all time as well. It is a very heavy/hard read but there’s a bit of humor to balance it out some. The characters were so well done that they also feel like a familiar family. I have 2 other books from Dr. Black that i plan to read this year.

Me seeing you cry already makes me soooo anxious to read Don’t Cry for Me. I am reading it with my book club next month and I’ll be following up with Isaac’s Song immediately after independently. I’ve always wondered the same about real people being on covers. Even when people make visuals for their book reviews. I’ve seen people use photos of people I know in real life for their book review visuals on IG.😩 personally, I don’t like it at all. But this is coming from a different standpoint than most. Because I know a lot of people feel and think anything on the internet is free game.

THIS!! I’ve seen people use influencers pictures for book reviews and i’m just like I KNOW you didn’t ask them to do that. 😅 But i’m not here to argue with these people. They will fight tooth and nail that once you post it online you can’t control how others use it.
