I have been considering this topic for a while, and have done some reading from various sources. Happened on this video today (divine window of opportunity) and this is awesome. Thank you so much, you made it so easy to understand, and I love the mental pictures that make it so deep. I became aware that I was only taking some thoughts captive, so fighting and excepting so many toxic thoughts. I am going to open a daily journal and write them down, give them to God and wait for God's answer to come. Some I know will take some time, because some thoughts will not die easily but with constant capture will eventually be won by the Word of Truth. God Bless you in the ministry.

I found your video because we are currently doing an in-depth study of the New Testament in the "Come Follow Me" manual at church. I love to hear what others have learned and thought about 2 Corinthians 10. One of the ways that I capture my thoughts, is to pay attention to my emotions. If I start to feel sad, hurt or bad in some way, I immediately stop and questions myself what I was thinking. Once I identify the thought, then I correct it with eternal or Godly truth. I often teach others that our spirit is eternal, it knows truth. Whenever we think a lie, we feel bad. That is our spirit letting us know that we are not standing on truth. Of course, there are moment when the Holy Spirit also tells me that I thought something that I should correct.

I am having trouble finding a job - for nine months i have been applying for jobs seeking my skills and experience - i am working from 7 am to 7 pm everyday sending resumes etc for overy nine months but no one contacts me and when they do - they put me through a 2 month interview process telling me how great i am and then they chose someone else. I am not indepentently wealthy so i cannot go indefinitely without a job. I discovered that many people seeking work are suffering the same sitution as they are posting their frustrations on social media. I donnot have family so this situation can make me homeless. I am a very optimistic positive person but this is a very tiring exhausting and dangerous situation so i am having trouble. I do pray every morning and i fo stay positive but i feel like i am more in denial. People suspect that most jobs being posted do not actually exist.😢. Please pray for me.

When a thought comes into your mind and you know it does not belong there, quickly go into battle. You bind that thought before it binds you. The devil brings thought to distract, deceive or divide. For example, if the devil puts a tormenting or accusing thought in your mind about say your pastor or someone in your church. You do not dwell on it, you take it captive before it takes you captive. You cast the thought down saying, In the name of Jesus, I bind that thought and cast it into the pit of hell for all eternity. Be vigilant, stand strong and keep doing this until the thought goes away. Also, replace the negative thoughts with good thoughts, positive thoughts about the person.

But the context of 2 corinthians 10:3-5 is different. Paul was talking about HIMSELF, that HE would be the one who captured the thoughts of the corinthians to make them obedient to Christ. In verse 3 he says "the weapons of our [paul and co] warfare are not carnal, but divinely powerful for the destruction of strongholds" meaning that his weapons are not like the fake apostles/spiritual people, who uses manipulation, deceit and fame. No, paul will use HIS divine weapons, which he will use to make every thought of the corinthians obedient to Christ. Yes this principle can be applied to us as well, but context is important.

This is wrong what you are saying ! every thought you have ever thought is a lie. You're thoughts are not you're own they are Satan's. God wants you to observe them by holding every thought captive. By getting to know ones self and doing the silent pray. You are on the way to seeking the kingdom of God.
