Taking Care of Your Glue Tips

Thanks Cristy. Haven't used pins for a long time - love my elmers glue. I use a piece of heavy cardboard to lay my fabric pieces on so glue doesn't get onto my mats etc.

I like to use dental flossers (the ones that are plastic loops) -- really inexpensive & also come in handy when threading my serger. First I put a pretty bead on - it stops at the beginning of the loop, & then thread the straight end into the glue bottle. If you find it too thin, depending on the size of your glue tip, use 2 together. Like you, I tried straight pins & found it rusted fairly quickly.

I ordered tips and am sooo excited to try this technique! I do have one question... Can I use the clear Elmers school glue. I ask only because I have that on hand. Thank you for sharing your videos!

I can not keep up with the little pieces of plastic that are inserted in the tips of the glue. I stumbled on another thing that can be used. The little interdental between teeth floss and brush can be used. I think the brand I found that works perfect is by the label GUMS. The brush keeps the opening unplugged. These can be found in the dental/tooth paste sections.

Glenda Slayton Great idea, thank you. We don't have Elmers glue but something the same so I will use your trick. I usually throw brushes away but now found a good home after a soak in disinfectant

Try as I may, I cannot find the glue bottles with those fine tips! So I bought some bottles from Amazon with fine tips and a cover…….

i always store my glues in the fridge along with my nail polish it keeps forever and won't dry out
