I’m really excited to see what the leather that I purchased looks like. The sales price was too good to pass up. I am really excited to get started on a project with the American Bison Leather. It’s a thin leather that I think will make a nice pony express bag.

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this video, but I'm glad I did. As someone who minimizes the compliments I receive, I needed to hear this. The irony of my reaction to receiving compliments is that I find it very important to pay someone compliments and when I give them, they are always genuine and heartfelt. Thank you for this wisdom. I hope it will change my reactions in the future.

I have an order from Wickett & Craig sitting in the boot of our Subaru waiting for me to take it down to Makers Mill tomorrow. Seems like one never tires of opening up a carton of leather and the anticipation is exciting. Thanks for the advice on compliments as I have always been rubbish when it comes to my response. You have given me pause for thought and I will respond positively from now on. Stay well... Cheers...Freddie

Great story. Makes sense. And very doubtful they would compliment you again. First hide showin, the colour would be good for woman’s purse or throw over shoulder bag. Just a guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Have a great day 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻

Looks like some great leather for future projects Robert! I totally get the temptation to take advantage of deals that are offered by our favorite retailers and suppliers. I am guilty of that myself more often than I care to admit! Also, the clip on "better to give than to receive" was excellent. I am glad you included that as it offers a different perspective on the intent behind the saying. It gave both my wife and I reason to heed the advice for the future. Thanks much and have a great day!

I brush off positive comments myself. I am my own biggest critic and demand a lot from myself. From a client of mine, I always thank them for positive comments or thank them when they leave a review for my business. But I have a really hard time taking a positive comment from friends/family. The advice is good, but it's really hard to see it differently when you have been like this all your life. The belts look nice, even though they are not my thing. I just made a wild colored biker wallet not long ago. Blue body, red pockets and green zipper pocket. Not my thing either, but it's wild, so I figure someone will love it since you don't see them like it. Last I knew, SB Foot made leather for high end western boot companies too. Springfield had some (and still does) that was in that price range. Heavier (5-6 ounce) but good looking leather. Will make nice bags. I bought three sides. Have you thought about selling someplace like a antique mall or somewhere like that, that you could just rent some space? I'm hoping for something like that in my area. Shows would be nice IF I had time to go and IF there were actually any here. For me to sell legally, I would have to get a retail sales tax license. I prefer selling places that collect and remit the sales tax for me.

Hello Robert Just subscribed and I’m going to give you a compliment;) What a fantastic job you’re doing I absolutely love your channel and even tho I’ve been in the game over 40 years, I’ve learned quite a few things. Even my wife is impressed with your high quality filming & video presentations as she is in charge of my KZbin channel (she’s from Chesterton) We are just a few hours SW of you in Arizona I could go on but I’ll leave it at that We probably passed each other in Prescott too Sure wish I found your channel sooner Keep up the great work and look forward to meeting you down the trail

Looks great. Question ..can a regular sewing machine sew leather?
@InMyBusyLittleShop
@InMyBusyLittleShop Ай бұрын
I think that depends. I remember my mom sewing a buckskin jacket for my father. It was a deer that he had harvested many years previously. I do remember that the sewing machine sounded like it was really working. The bison is light weight enough that it might work.

that blue leather looks awesome. is that the avitar leather? i saw an ad for avitar leather that looked similar and was thinking about picking some up for some bags. and i am glad to see the american bison upholstery leather. i have run across it many times and couldnt pull the trigger because i was not sure i would like it. but seeing your hide convinced me to look at it further. i think i could make some dopp kits with it and it was not very expensive when i saw it. thank you for sharing these videos. they are a huge help for someone starting out like myself.

Thanks. The blue was Bermuda Teal. I have been pleasantly surprised with online orders. Many times I guess I’m buying the deal and then decide what to do with it when I get it. I figure that I can always line it with something else or use as a liner. I really want to make an additional messenger or pony express bag. Do I will use some of the buffalo for that. Thanks for taking time to comment!
