I used to lose cuttings to ‘damping off’ until I started watering from the bottom. It makes all the difference in the world. Plus you won’t get over run by fungus knats. I truly hate those little buggers!

Why, thank you! I’ve started some feverfew seedlings, and I think I’m going to try propagating some of them from cuttings as only a few of the seeds in this package actually germinated. Ha! I won’t be foiled!

Thank you for this video. May I ask id all the cuttings in 1 pot becomes 1 plant or would I split it please
@theflowerfarmer2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can! each cutting becomes an individual plant so I pot them on in the spring and have just planted them into my back door pots x

@@theflowerfarmer wow so 6 new plants from 6 new cuttings (providing they all take!) that's amazing. I have done clematis and salvia feline cuttings before, but I'm still learning. Thank you x

Thanks Georgie. Great info. I slyly took a few cuttings from the bush roses around our Anzac memorial here in my little NZ town and by chance rather than careful tending they have rooted. I figured if they grow profusely in the spot they're in - they'll do the same in my garden around the corner. Can't wait to try my hand at dahlia cuttings this year.

Another great video, thank you! I have a question regarding the soil: in the US we use “soil“, I believe you call it “compost”. The soil you’re using for these cuttings, I’m wondering if it would be similar to our “seeds starting“ soil, that has minimal fertilizers etc. Or is the soil you’re using typical potting soil for normal planting. You mentioned you do start seeds in it, but I looked it up on the website and their description of it includes slow release fertilizers. Thank you, Tammi @basketofblooms

I've only taken cuttings of my succulents up to now, but I'd recommend that to anyone to get your confidence because it's super easy and very exciting to see your first new leaf. 😊 I didn't realise Amistad leaves were scented! I think I might try that. 😊 I would love a potting shed....actually, an art studio with potting shed/car port attached would be perfect. 😊🎨 🌿

What about watering over winter? If left in a unheated greenhouse would you water them?

I say water almost counterintuitively little and only water from underneath x
