And the travel guy from Google is a real expert of British railways, is he? And even he only says they're doing "interesting" things - things that interest a Google boss do not necessarily interest Mr or Mrs Average, do they? Does anyone wonder if the conductor with a list of who's on his train gets the same duff gen that passengers get about when their tickets are valid? There's a lot that's really great about Virgin Trains East Coast and, yes, I'd rate them highly among long-distance TOCs, but no, I don't need to be amazed: I just want the system to work. And it doesn't.
