Cameron, i just wanted to thank you for all your videos over these years, i've been a proud subscriber for a long time and you have motivated me to buy my first bike, rebuild it and ride it, i am currently in the process of rebuilding a yamaha dt50r into a dirtbike, gonna do a fork swap to upside down ones, make the bike look as new and good as possible and maybe even do a engine swap, money is just my biggest problem, i have all the knowledge but not the money, but i won't give up and i can only thank you for the motivation, keep it up with the videos and the build!

For an entirely new brake system on a custom bike like this maybe consider SILICONE brake fluid- it doesn't hold moisture like (glycol) brake fluid and doesn't ruin paint. Expensive but worth it.

A handy trick for brake pads is to sand or file a chamfer or beveled edge on the front edges of the pads, it makes installing the wheels much easier as the brake disc will slide in between the pads much easier.

I ran into the same issue doing brakes on cars. I wanted to back the lube in to keep the pins lubed and keep winter salt water out. If the pins don't have grease slots cut in them to let excess grease out, you develop hydraulic pressure pushing against the brakes. I still use plenty of lube, but if I feel any hydraulic force pushing back I remove grease or keep working the pins until there is no pressure pushing back. You can also burp the air pressure out of the rubber boots, push the pins all the way in then lift up the seal on the boot to let air pressure out, reseal the bottom before taking force off the pins.

Nice bike build cameron. But out curiosity would so happen to know what year your rear wheel hub is. Because on my kx125 the rear hub is quite right the rear hub for what ever reason needs 4 bearings and needed a wave rotor. And I am not sure what the rear hub on my bike is, the rim is a saxess just wondering if you might know :)
