I am glad you think so. I was cringing at the bad acting in the beginning. It was really only meant for our video series, The Making of a Savile Row Coat on Vimeo, but we decided it would be useful here too. vimeo.com/ondemand/thehta

The script and acting remembered me of clips from another specific website 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But still a perfect video.

"on which side do you wear your pant?" Is something I had to figure out myself. Pattern-cutting is such an interesting job. Great video.

I encountered a situation on more than 2 occasions that the client was wider than my hands could meet on the other side-- at least not without pressing my own body on them (embarrassing ). I'm a small person. What do you recommend in this case? I measure them from the front, because I have them hold one end & hand it to me. Thank you.

Hi Amy, that’s what the scye device is for. Check out the front of your book and you’ll see it. I suggest you paste it to wood or card and cut it out. There are some instructions in the description. It holds the tape in place at the front of the armhole so you can measure round the chest. It can also take a front strap measure. Check out my blog for the details www.handcrafttailor.com

@@RoryDuffy Can you post a picture of how the measuring tapes are attached to the scye device?
@RoryDuffy3 жыл бұрын
@@ACAshworthCo well there is one attached at the 3” mark. Although I don’t think that actually works out at 3” when it printed. And the narrow tape for the front strap measure attached at the “0” above the cross hairs. Take a look at the blog handcrafttailor.com/blog There are notes on measuring with the scye device

Out of curiosity (and without disrespect); Rory, is your posture (rounded upperback - you ears are way beyond your shoulderpoint) a side effect of your profession as a tailor?

All I know is my posture is horrible in that video.

There is no next door. I live in a stone house on a hill top.

What is the importance of which side you dress - how does it affect measurement?
@RoryDuffy2 жыл бұрын
Cloth is hollowed out on the opposite side of dress. More length is allowed for dress and removed from the side that has none.
