yes // you can hack the DX-Code on the film up to iso 400. This is the maximum this camera can handle (100 - 400 iso). The flash will then not flash when you got enough light. If you have an iso over 400, the camer automatically sets the iso to 100 - that why the flash gets activated.
@degrootallard Жыл бұрын
Just got mine Riva today and read the manual that came with it. Seems the iso is set to 400 when the film is higher than 400. Of course therefore a dx-code is necessary.

@Bonsees2 жыл бұрын
@@leongeorgiou4519 technically, any film would work, but I liked using 400 ISO and above just cause this doesn’t have a bright aperture. Though I can imagine using a low grain film like Ektar 100 on a sunny day would be good too

Great, fresh video with an alternate view of panorama photography that’s not all about land or city escapes. Those shots were excellent! I already went through one Minolta P’s which broke (messed up film advance all over the place), and I’m now in my second, which is A-OK (thus far 😅🤞🏻), but these are cheap enough and plentiful. Most people dismiss these cropped panorama 35mm P&S cameras like a waste of film, but if you’re not as square minded, I highly recommend this specific model, also known elsewhere as Riva Panorama. To me it’s all about the composition and this little Minolta has quite a good and large viewfinder, so you can truly focus on your Panoramic composition, unlike the tiny cropped viewfinder switched version you get with most other dual mode P&S models. Mine goes in the front pocket very often since it’s very slim and cheap not to worry too much.

Hey man! Cinestill 800T is my main choice for 35mm film. What I've found is that I can shoot the film at golden hour, sometimes even late afternoon without any kind of lens filter and still get gorgeous warm tones. I don't know if Vuhlandes did anything in post or not. I'm speaking from my own experience with Cinestill 800t.

I do know that ECN2 film is a little thicker than normal C41 film. Never had a roll of Cinestill in my hand to know, but isn't that based on Vision 3? Check against a roll of Portra, if it feels thicker, then that may have had something to do with the rewind motor getting warm or worn. Not sure how well higher end cameras would handle this, but something to keep in mind.

Love the shots, but hate cropped panorama negatives. I have a few point and shoot zoom cameras with optional panorama cropping, that I never use, when I shoot with any of those cameras. I know some medium format cameras can be equipped with a 35mm to 120 Roll Film Adapter Set. I might get one of those and put in my 6x9 foldable - that should produce some nice full frame panorama shots - with sprocket holes too. It's a lot cheaper than an Xpan anyway ;-)

I have a camera that doesn’t rewind but I found that you can stick a pair of tweezers into the top of the canister of film to rewind it by hand in a dark bag!

How do you mean?? I have a Nikon l35af that won’t rewind and I’ve blown so many rolls of film trying to rewind it by hand. Stick the tweezers in almost as if that canister was a pencil sharpener?
@SalamiTommi3 жыл бұрын
@@cjbcarr1 yes! On top of the canister you will insert the tweezers into the smaller cylinder (I believe this is where the camera grabs onto to rewind) but make sure to do all of this in a dark bag to not expose your film
