I applaud you for taking her back to Abbots Bromley I really do, but I bet if she could talk, she'd probably tell you that she never really saw Bromley as her home; she'll tell you of her youth serving the good people of Stoke-on-Trent during her time at Hanley (I believe). After many active years there she was sent out to prepare for her retirement at sleepy Abbots Bromley, before seeing out her final days at the brigade's training school. I think she'd really appreciate a trip back to her youth.

Wow, that's amazing that you were able to park your Dennis Sabre up in the garage of the original fire station she served at, allowing current and ex-firefighters come to view her and have a ride in her. Excellent work there, Extreme Garage.

That's awesome. Across the pond, our apparatus are treated like family members. We share an emotional attachment to the pieces of equipment we serve with. It warms my heart seeing their station getting a visit from an old friend.

Its gonna cost but b'lox, keep up the maintenance on the old gal, not many petrol-heads have their own fire engine, its worth it for the laugh. Glad to see the fire crews respected you and the engine to the fullest extent, says a lot about em, no egos no BS just as is the real deal from them!🤩😍😎🔆

It's sad that Dennis Fire and John Dennis Coachbuilders (JDC) no longer exist. My local brigade - now named Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service - used Dennis fire appliances up until Mayflower Engineering went to the wall. They then used MAN chassis for many years with JDC building the bodies. Sadly, JDC closed its factory, bringing to an end the story of the Dennis Brothers who started the company and went on to produce municipal vehicles, like dustcarts and gully emptiers, bus and coach chassis and, of course, fire appliances. The name Dennis still lives on with its refuse collection vehicles, which is now owned by Terberg, who make the bin lifting gear attached to the rear of Dennis RCVs.
