Wow Mate! I want to be on tour with you and your family! How wonderful was that?! That was quite a treat Paddy. I'm sitting here in Massachusetts -12C weather recovering from my heart surgery instead of roaming the street of CM eating Khao Soi and having a Singhua or a Chang. But I am on the mend and nearly ready to get back out to my favorite places on Earth and likely copying a good portion of your fantastic itinerary. Your family is absolutely lovely Paddy and I thank you very much for sharing them with us. And Miss P is even more beautiful then I remember. You two are an inspiration for love. All the best and I'll try and catch up with you once I get back over. In the meantime safe travels my friend and be well.

Koh Yao Noi was such a gem! Highly recommend. On the pier on the east side of the island, there is a not-for-profit that teaches how to do batik painting. Super fun activity and a unique (and portable!) souvenir

I really enjoyed this video. I did the same thing in 2008 for my parents except I had my 11 year old son with them. We did Bangkok and then the village in issan ( to meet my inlaws) and then phuket . Went to the Bridge over the River Kwai as my grandfather fought in Burma and was part of the forgotten army. Still to this day my son and both parents say its the best holiday they've ever had - some acheivement as my perents have been all around the world on cruises. Thanks for thismate it has brought back many great memories.

Brilliant video, and as a woman of similar age to your mother, and having grown up children too, it warmed my heart to see the joy you shared with your family. I specially loved (to the point of a little tear or two) the Khao Sok part. We stayed at Panvaree The Greenery in late 2018 and I agree it was the most special place I've ever been. Awesome AWESOME! The best food there too. Now in a few weeks we are heading back to Thailand for another holiday, and after seeing your video on Koh Wai we are booked in Bungalow P1 for 4 nights. Thank you for showing the magic of that place - can't wait to be there!

I have been to Khao Sok back in 2018 and did a 1-day lake tour with a tour group. Ever since then, it has been on my bucket list to go on a private 3 days/2 night tour there one day. Well, next week it is finally happening and I can't wait!

Wonderful vlog. Very immersive experience to watch. I consider myself a master Thailand planner too, as I had planned visits to some of the same places you visited ;) Be advised: Panvaree the Greenery is located next to Panvaree. These resorts are, however, not connected in any way (quite literally as well). And it's definitely Panvaree the Greenery where you want to stay! Fun fact: when in Khao Sok Lake taking the bamboo raft to the Coral Cave, you pass a ranger station. It worths to mention that these people live there. The older lady you must have encountered at the ranger station (maybe she was even driving your raft) has been living in the jungle for decades. She only leaves to the village to do shopping for about two times per months. In fact: she used to live in one the villages that existed before the Rajjaprabha dam was built. But had to be relocated as all of those villages would have been flooded when the dam being was completed. Many of the older people feel so connected to the area that they simplify plu do not want to leave. In my opinion, Koh Sok Lake is simply one of the most beautiful places in the world. Keep them coming!
