Great video as always Joe. That M3 spec is a thing of beauty. The drone footage is also incredible but I am torn. I’ve had several serene and picturesque hiking trips disrupted by the distinct sound of drones here in Colorado. I wish there was an easier way to capture those beautiful vistas while protecting the serenity of our outdoor spaces. The first person to build the silent drone will have a gold mine in their hands.
@JoeAchilles12 жыл бұрын
Cheers man! Yeah totally agree re drones, had mine 18 months and used it 3 times, this flight was genuinely less than 90 seconds and to me worthwhile for memories, I wouldn't have done it if there were lots of other people up there either. 👌

Big THUMBS up for the lady on the left. No complaints, nothing at any power slides on narrow alpine roads and what a shame that the beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Porsche, friend, tarmac, tyres, luggage, ... were introduced but not her...Joe, sorry I am just kidding and I stop kidding now! Privacy is privacy! Surely also wanted! The content is GREAT as always, the only difference is the occupied silent left front I immediately recognized probably because my wife surely would have been louder at least at the point of power slides! 😁😉 Keep going! Cheers Marton

Brilliant vid Joe! Stunning scenery….. surely the NC500 or at least part of it would be right up your street for the channel? Took my humble M340i up last week and did the bottom part of it. Simply stunning! If you like the wilderness feeling of the mountains you’ll love it. Obviously not as high as Alps, but for me just as special. I visit alps regularly although I tend to be driving these roads in the opposite weather….!

I’ve climbed that col a couple of times on a road bike and it certainly does take your breath away.! The additional loop at the top was an afterthought for the French to claim the highest road in Europe. And since it was an afterthought, it’s steeper than the rest of the climb - all you need when the air is so thin..! 🙄😁

Stunning road. Did the Routes des Grandes Alpes five years ago from Thonon Les Bains down to Nice. I wanted a change from the Route Napoléon that we’d done several times previously. Awesome experience. At the risk of sounding like the old fart that I am, just a word of caution. It’s not for the inexperienced or those who lack confidence driving on challenging roads that are seriously high up in places. These aren’t roads you’d want to get it wrong on. Edit: I wrote this prior to watching the video, so pleased to see Joe making the same comment. Epic video, especially the drone shots at the end. Makes me want to go back.

Strange you’d comment on a video prior to watching it
@andrewmoorhouse6872 жыл бұрын
@@kirkmasterson1792 Time constraints meant I had to watch it later. I just wanted to make it clear that some of these passes are not ‘a walk in the park’ and are both challenging and time consuming. Not somewhere you rush through even if, like Joe, you’re an experienced driver and not one to really recommend if you’re a first-timer at Alpine driving. I know how often people on-line people make things sound easy (mountain walking is another) when they’re not. That’s how people get into difficulties. Good to hear Joe explaining this.

The highest I have driven is Mt Lemon in Arizona, I think we were just over 11,000 feet above sea level (anyone from Tucson able to confirm?) Proper surfaced Road all the way, from desert with Saguaro cacti at the bottom to rough pine at the top, with rather a nice German style Alpine ski village on the other side. Lots of cyclists as apparently various Olympic athletes train there. Lovely drive in summer, with equally spectacular views.
