My 4 year old son is currently battling cancer for the second time, and his prognosis is unfortunately pretty poor. We spend so many long days at the hospital as he gets treatment and I save up your videos to binge during those long days. Your calm, realistic, content brings me so much comfort when the rest of my life is feeling so out of control. Watching your videos feels like being on FaceTime with your best friend. In a way it feels like your videos help to keep my girlhood alive when it feels like the reality of adulting gets so overwhelming. You help me to hang onto the fangirl within myself who loves Taylor swift, harry styles, normal people, reading, etc, despite my reality being so heavy at times. I'm sure on your end it feels like just posting content about your life, but to some of your viewers you provide escape and comfort in the hardest of times. Love this! I’m similar in that I am older than 40…58 this month and been married to my husband for over 30 years and have 4 grown kids. I’m like Steph’s parents in age. But I agree that I tend to read a variety and often more inline with the younger BookTube folks. I met my husband to be in college French class (the only class he struggled through 😂) and have been together ever since. I initially thought he liked my roommate. It was like a romcom trope of misunderstanding. My kids are the same mostly Steph. My oldest married his high school sweetheart but the others haven’t dated much. Although my daughter told me about she and her friends signing up for some dating app for her aged people and everyone she seemed to match with were older and from a different school. I was thinking about the question of the day and just now realized that my current relationship is a classic book trope: brothers best friend. I have literally never thought of that haha. Anyways he is more than anything i could have ever imagined. I know him basically my whole life but we never really talked and once we did we simply knew this is it. We went on one date and we both openly said our feelings...no games, no long back and forth just immediate open affection and love. So what i have learned from that is that true love doesn't play around or makes you wait because thats the cool thing to do or makes them feel in control. You know you found the right person when neither can hide their feelings and intentions for each other. Also when you simply can't be dishonest with them about your feelings and thoughts, i could never bring myself (from the beginning on and now 2 years later) to say i'm fine when i'm not. The true answer just comes right out of me (he is the same about that too).

I don't usually comment, but steph's videos bring me so much comfort. I know she probably won't see this because i'm late commenting, but for anyone who might be scrolling who feels like steph does that they'll be single forever and that they can't find someone, i want you to know that the right person is definitely out there and they'll show up when you're ready for it. when i was 24 i struggled with a lot of mental health issues and i honestly thought i would never ever find someone because i felt unlovable and because i was really avoidant to affection, but now at 27 i'm happily married to the love of my life. i met him randomly at a bonfire through friends when i wasn't even looking for anything and our love story has been better than any book i've ever read or any song i've ever listened to. he's honestly my best friend and the best thing that's ever happened to me. if i met him even a year earlier i would not have been in a place to receive or give love the way he deserves because i had to mature and work on myself first. i still obviously have day to day struggles but the right person will come along when you're ready. never stop being open to receiving love and being brave. your time will come. in the mean time your company is more than enough and you have friends and family that love you so much. you're surrounded by love even if you don't realize it. (this goes for anyone who wants a relationship if you love being single or casual relationships you do you and have a blast!!!)

Definitely watch My life with the walter boys. It's new york girl moving to small town. The family dynamics of the walters is so beautiful. It's definitely a little cringe but not in the way where you have to walk away from the screen because of the second hand embarrassment. Plus the choice between the boys is actually so hard as a watcher because you see both of them and you want both to get love and also not get their hearts broken.
