Күн бұрын

We are entering Namibia with our Land Rover Defender, after more than 50.000km, we are celebrating 1 year on the road, and we are doing it by visiting some of the most stunning areas of Namibia, and seeing the king of the jungle for the first time.
After two amazing weeks with our family, we leave Lusaka behind and drive towards the Zambezi river. We are taking one of the worst tarred roads in Africa, the M10 connecting Livingstone with Sesheke. It looks like it has been hit by meteorites, the potholes are so big that a car fits inside them.
We enjoyed a beautiful evening at the Zambezi , before crossing to Namibia. Two people recommended us, to meet Keith in Katima, and we could miss the chance to do this.
We use the time to enjoy the Caprivi area and doing a self-drive safari in Mamili National Park, now known as Nkasa Rupara National Park. It as stunning park, rarely visited. It is usually called the Mini Okavango as it gets flooded in the wet season, creating islands. It is just paradise for wildlife. And we were lucky to be alone and see three different lions , really close. We absolutely loved our time in this park, and we consider it one of the best safaris in Africa.
Enjoy The Ride!

You will enjoy Nam tremendously - it is a world on it's own my favorite country. Do not be in a hurry, take time as the distances are long and there are a miriad of sights that should be visited. Enjoy. PS - I found the Scrubba wash bag here in South Africa!

Good episode again.. What’s the story with Kai driving with his left leg up 😂😂.. is that a way of relaxing the leg 🦵 during long drives.. This is where you have to agree with me that the Toyota Prado has a better driving position 😊😅😅.. Keep it 💯 keep moving.. 💪🏾

I don’t know to be honest, the Defender as left hand drive is not the most comfortable car to drive in. You always sitting slightly turned. So I try to change it up every once in a while.

We love mini trips! We always have done short trips (before this world trip)and we think is the way to go. Specially if you focus it on something specific you want to see or do! Regarding your question. We had to choose from the countries, we really wanted to get to the coast, so we opted for heading towards Namibia. 🤷‍♀️

Wellcome to Namibia. Look forward to meet you guys in my town in the South.The tracks you saw was from hyena. The clue is large paw(front) next to small paws which are the rear paws.

Thank you for the clue!! Now we know. So many times thinking it was lion and it has been always hyenas. Even in Skeleton Coast we thought it was a female with a cub. But now it makes sense! We are sadly now in South Africa! Our videos have quite a delay. 🥺

Little tip for pawprints - if the print has claw marks at the end of the toes its a dog/wild dog/hyena if it doesn't its a cat lion/leopard/caracal. The only exception to this rule is cheetahs which are the only cats that cant retract their claws.

@Thebluelandy
@Thebluelandy Жыл бұрын
Yeah!! The thing is that many times when coming from Europe we have the expectation, that there are lions everywhere in the continent. The reality is sadly completely the opposite. If we would have traveled int he dry season we most probably would have seen many. But, we got to see other things!
