Time for some grease on there. That set up looks very similar to our usa body 2n1. Im guessing that it might be since i think you're pretty close to them in deruyter,ny. We are on our 2nd tank the 1st lasted 12yrs and it had a few soft spots. I like the new tank much better some new updates to it that makes things easier. We have the transfer arm on ours works well for loading our slinger and adding some wet material to our compost windrows

Jim Civitello yeah it's about the same setup that we built, wheels would be a good idea on the rails.

John Hatt it takes all of us to make what we have as nice as we have it. Meaning not just Farmers though, you need every piece of the puzzle equally filled. If everybody were a farmer it would be awful tough to be able to enjoy the other necessities that we have grown accustomed to.I respect the fact that most people appreciate what we do as Farmers but I don't think we are any more important than any other industry.

Looks like they go off easier than it goes on! Nice system to utilize your trucks more!
@FarmingFixingFabricating6 жыл бұрын
Rodney Erdmann yeah it's tough going on, there is some sand in the tank that settled out of the manure

Do you find it more efficient to run straight trucks rather than tractor trailers, or just getting in and out of small entrances to fields? Interesting video, thanks for posting.
@FarmingFixingFabricating6 жыл бұрын
Brian Grant tractor trailer defiantly the way to go. Other than tight driveways they are just better all the way around. Occasionally you'll run into problems when it gets sticky and a straight truck we'll sometimes do a little better but a set of float tires and full locking diffs and you're good to go.

That's neat haven't seen that before is that something you invented

How long does it take to switch? I can take off my silage body, grease the truck and put the tank back on in an hour normally.
@FarmingFixingFabricating6 жыл бұрын
Caleb Bisson big hour, usually the don't wanna loosen up and have to be heat up or torched off. We only do it a couple times a year
@calebbisson45776 жыл бұрын
Andrew Hourigan that sucks. I’ll have to take a video of our system some time. Two pins and the hydraulic and air lines and you’re sliding off. We swap after every cutting.
@steveseas48786 жыл бұрын
Wow thats pretty neat. Do pins just hold the tanker in place?
@FarmingFixingFabricating6 жыл бұрын
Steve Seas there are 3 bolt tabs on each side, a better idea would be a couple 3 pins going cross ways.i started with this design and that's what I'm stuck with, we would have to change too many things more

can all your dump trucks multitask ?
@FarmingFixingFabricating6 жыл бұрын
jetegtmeier71 no they can't we have 6 chassis that have the rails on them and we have 4 tanks, 3 silage boxes and 1 flat bed. At any given time we have 2 of something that isn't being used unless we have a chassis go down then we'll switch stuff around. Kind of a pain in the ass but it gets the job done sometimes

hook lift would be more flexible, and way easier to use. look up Multilift or Joab. the two best brands :)
@FarmingFixingFabricating6 жыл бұрын
Stian I kinda hate what we have because so damn time consuming and I wish I started with something different. The tanks are heavy and most of the time they have a little sand in them. They can be set on legs and we would need to pick them with the fork lift but I don't like leaving them sitting for any length of time on the legs. The best thing is a road tractor, just put the landing gear down pull the pin and drive to the next trailer.
@timroberge14986 жыл бұрын
Hook lifts are too heavy and set the body too high in the air for farm work.
@sisutrucks6 жыл бұрын
new ones dont build much height, but they are a bit heavy, and expensive. systems like the joab cameleont would work. im thinking about building a truck with a tipper frame with regular container locks on the frame and have different boxes or flatbeds standing on legs. then it could do container runs if have spare capacity also. one of my trucks i have a tipper body and a frame with a fifth wheel on a frame of its own. takes half an hour to go from tipper to tractor unit :)

Time to grease it or put some oil on it
@FarmingFixingFabricating6 жыл бұрын
John Hatt you know it actually makes it worse if you oil the heck out of it when you go to take it off dirt has stuck to the oil or the grease and it's just as bad. A set of wheels like a dumpster body has would be the best.
