I've had the Stabila jamb set for a couple of decades. That set has the 32" and the 78", both with magnets, Great for steel jamb installation and the magnets are positioned to hit the hinges on wooden jambs. Stabila are fine levels, however I’ve had some problems with stabila. 1. The price for there levels isn’t worth it. 2. Stabila doesn’t not live up to there warranty! I went to turn in my 78” level because it fell off of scaffolding and it was almost 3/8 of a inch out of level. The store that I went to that does the warranty claim for Stabila checked the level and said yes it is almost 3/8 off. I did the paperwork, spent over $80 for shipping and after 6 weeks Stabila contacted me and said that the level was within there specs so there was not warranty work. They asked me if I wanted them to send it back to me, after they said it would be another $80 for shipping I said no. The sales person at the store I went said that over the last 25+ levels they sent in to Stabila for obviously problems, not a single one was held up to there “life time” warranty. The sales rep told me to to buy empire levels. Empire is now owned by Milwaukee. If you damage a empire level, you can bring it to any store that sells empire, they check yo see if there is a problem, if there is you go to shelf, grab a new one, and walk out the store. I will never waste my money on Stabila ever again. Yes I have the jammer set, yes I am a carpenter, yes Stabila had screwed me and I will never go back German ever again.

That's sad to hear. I used to manage the installation crews for a large tile and custom stone fabrication and installation company. We gave all of our employees Stabila levels and never had a problem on a warranty issue. This was like 10 years ago so something must have changed.
@stevenvachon97452 жыл бұрын
You need to find another tool supplier. You should not have to pay for any warranty work for any high quality tool you buy. They are taking your money and leaving you in the dust. That is not good customer service. I've have Stabila levels for years and yes, had issues with their earlier versions of their digital levels and they covered the cost completely. It took a while but they did fix them, plus called me and asked me if I would like it shipped back to me in their hard shell case (96" for a 78" digital level). Like I am going to say no... Lol

Anything made in Europe is first class. From cars, clothing, Audio, optics. Even tools.(Bosch, Festool few others) I tried out Sola made in Austria, now to add Stabila 176, after a tool dealer had spring sale. The vendor from Stabila knew his stuff, yet didn't bore me or too technical. Who wouldn't get excited buying a high end tool? You started off so excited, then you became level headed. Oh no I just made a funny. I had a empire that I used for building decks the vials are faded to clear hard to see the bubble quickly. Bought a Johnson. It's better built large vials. Now for Stabila 176 set, while digital is faster. I prefer the challenge of the bubble. Too each their own.
