What a fun video I have for you today. This Challenge is hosted by Sherri @Pretty. Simple. Sherri. They asked us to find the ugliest thing at the thrift store and make it beautiful. Well since I was already a thrifter I definitely was up to this challenge. I never thought of painting /distressing those type pieces. See them all the time and think ugly colors! Now I can buy them and make them pretty. My favorite was the tall thin piece. All the design just popped out! Thanks!

When you are doing your stencils try using 631 vinyl. It is temporary and can be used on walls. The 651 is permanent vinyl. I love everything you do.

Thank you. Because my signs are pre sanded(I'm guessing) I have not had luck using temporary vinyl. It would not stick to my pre sanded items to use as a stencil. And ended up making quite a mess when it did kind of stick. Lots of bleed under. But thank you for the suggestion.

Oh no.... does it count that for many years my 2 kids showed animal at the 4H fair. But we did not live on a farm and had to travel to take care of the animals multiple times a day. Well my sons chickens we could have at our house but the cows sheep and pigs could not be in our subdivision. Lol. Wow .. yes that was a lot of work. I was happy when they could drive. My dream was and still is a rural farm house🥰😁

Each one is a favorite, for me💕!!! Rustoleum spray paint works great for metals, plastics, and resins, in my experience. The few times I've used Krylon brand Fusion on those type surfaces, it covered well, also. This tutorial inspires me to paint and stencil my old metal popcorn cans, mixed nuts canisters, and cookie tins. Also, love your stacked picnic baskets. I kept just 2 that still had their sets of dishware and utensils. The other 5 empty ones that I collected over 15 years ago, were made into gift baskets for friends.

Yes, I’ve not had luck with the Krylon brand. I just keep to what I know works. I love doing popcorn tins also. I do have a video of that on my channel. Oh... the picnic baskets came from watching a fellow KZbinrs @livingitcountry channel of home tours. I I saw that idea. And I was like I see them thrifting all the time. There’s so pretty. I really liked the resin piece. Of course once you do your magic on it, the piece doesn't look like resin at all. I did get two large metal stars for $2.50 each that have raised metal designs on them. I can't wait to paint them white and destress them. I have been waiting for a day that isn't over 90 degrees and humid. I have to do my painting on my porch or in back yard. So good weather is required.

I have two of those stars sitting in my garage right now. One is yellow (ugly!) and another one about the same color as yours. I am going to get my spray paints out and paint them! My favorite piece is the long metal and wood framed panel, so pretty now with the distressing! I just love watching you turn ugly into beautiful.So many of us would just pass them by in a store, but not you I know one thing if I spray painted as much as you my finger would be stuck in that position. Why don’t you use an electronic sprayer? Wouldn’t it be easier and cheaper in the long run.

We were waiting for the paint room in our pole barn workshop to done so we could ( bite the bullet) and by a very expensive one. Which is funny you mention it. We actually just got it last week.
