My boss took me to lunch at Telefèric Barcelona and they had beautiful watercolor flyers with a recipe for the pan tomate. I quickly snatched up the flyer and made the bread for dinner a couple of days later. I can honestly say that not only is the food at the restaurant outstanding, but even their basic recipes are on point.

I was taught the same thing as a child by my parents - to eat every grain of rice as a sign of respect to the rice farmers. Japanese and Korean culture can be similar in so many ways! But sometimes I think it's cuz my parents were poor immigrants and hated to see food waste, which is just as noble a reason, too.

Eating every grain of rice is definitely a must. Have been doing that as a kid. Comes from good training as a kid in Japan. I tell my wife and kids that they need to eat all of their rice every time we eat gohan.

Best tempura is Sushi Zono in Campbell. Crispiest batter of any Japanese restaurant. Whenever I go to new Japanese restaurant, I always try their tempura.

Paik Noodles, Hu Tieu Nam Vang, Yummy Trieu Chau, Hai Nam, Com Tam Thien Huong in Viet Town mall, Hue Restaurant, Vons Chicken original location, all pretty great spots for authentic food.

I’m surprised for how much you guys love amazing and create amazing food you are going to some very generic spots in the bay. You have to hit SF up more and some other smaller not so “fancy” spots. Kevin’s pho in westlake in Daly City is the best out there. Not fancy, just home in the wall but best soup

"Why do you make me hungry?"😂 sorry. lol We don't have a permanent place, we packed everything up end of December because we couldn't justify paying bay area rent prices to be gone most of the year. So the garden is no more but there will be a better one in the future when we can afford to buy a house! We still have the NZ van since we plan to go back. Just had to take care of some stuff in the US + van life in new zealand during winter is a bit of bummer.
