A game like this in the 2000s would’ve been really hard, mostly cuz the emulator gives you more room for bigger rom hacks. Coding and making games on the N64 was difficult, even if most games released were bangers.

I’ve been playing this most days since launch and have around 40 stones right now, and just want you to know I really love this game. It’s absolutely fantastic, all the attention to detail makes me laugh out loud in joy as a bionicle (especially 2001) fan, and the brilliant level design has me hooked for hours at a time as an sm64 fan. I’m probably one of the only people that is in that perfect overlap of being absolutely enamored with both of these things, but as someone in that group, I want you to know that you did a stupendous job. Thank you so much for this.

What a strange thing to see. It really looks like something from the old platforming days. It actually looks really fun to explore. The sound design is what would really make or break it for me, if the OST is as good as the one in this trailer then I’m sold.

All of the music uses the SM64 sound font. A lot of music from Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong Country, and other games with atmospheric music.

Is there any way possible to add the ambient tracks from the Mata Nui Online Game? The 64 ones are definitely rad, but don't quite have that mysterious Bionicle vibe. The hack is awesome regardless, mostly just curious!

@@zigorously Eh. Yes and no. Mario 64 sound font is pretty awful and replacing existing instruments with ones that are less ridiculous would be a pain. The main reason I couldn't do music I wanted, is because I'm really not a music guy. A couple of years ago, I asked for help with the music, but no one was interested I'm afraid.

Just got my 50th toa stone, definitely going to finish it but I have to leave a comment before I forget. This is some of the most fun I've had in forever, thank you so much! I don't know all the ins and outs of sm64, so some stuff has been very challenging, but that's added a lot to the experience! The visuals are also so spot on, great atmosphere and variety. Really feel drawn in by the level design too, I feel like exploring and when I do I'm rewarded for it. Excellent hack

There's so many awesome things about this, I don't know what my favorite is! Maybe it's the sound bites that seemingly come straight from MNOG, maybe it's the whole concept of the game itself, maybe it's the faithfully recreated island, I can't decide! I've never played Mario 64 but being a big lego fan from year 2000s I'm inspired to play this game out, I played a lot of Mata Nui Online Game 2 and I recognized many environemnts that are in that game too.
