I got a Sting R mx4, and that o-ring is something everybody needs to do. Its a hole new bike after that

Just got my mx5. Rode it for about seven miles and wheeled off a few curbs and then I started to hear a rotational click click click…. Fast or slow. After carefully examining the issue, I found the quick link was slightly wider and clicking against the plastic interior chain guard. I tried taking the chain guard off and moving it, as there are three locations, which I assume as your chain tensioner changes you would need to use, but this did not help. I tried adding an extra washer to push out the guard slightly, but this was impossible due to the Frame lip on the swing arm. The solution was grabbing the bottom of the chain guard and pulling hard enough to slightly open up about a millimeter or two of space…. NO MORE CLICK. Sometimes brute force is the answer!

Is this sound not normal ?

Does the mx5 benefit from doing this also noise wise?
@lunacyclerepairАй бұрын
@@MTBing4LIFE a bit , but it’s much harder to do this install on the mx5 . You will need to remove the swingarm

Why does it not come like that?

Good question

Because they do not build the bikes, but rather distribute them. Luna has made a great effort to offer improvements to the bikes, like this video and the float seats. The reality is, you should probably be asking Talaria that question, because luna is not going to disassemble every bike crate they sell to install an o-ring and then try to repackage the bike. Just doesn't make sense.

@@justinb1488 no dude I do not mean it like at you guys at all! I appreciate all your content and everything Luna does I just am asking that in general I guess because you're 100% right it's a great question for them. Can you please explain why it's a gearbox over belt drive and your guys's opinion on it that's the only thing that has me not ordering MX-5 from Luna right now and tempted for the e ride pro

@Razorcrew_Cole full disclosure, I do not work for or at luna cycle lol. I just happen to be a happy customer and can see that they seem to be a top-tier company when it comes to customer service. I bought a xxx used locally in Michigan and bought some upgrade parts from Luna right before the mx5 release. Got my parts in a reasonable time considering everything going on with the release. I would encourage you to look up issues with the eride pro and also with the mx5 and make your decision then. Personally, if I had the cash I would have had an mx5 on the way already, and I would have let my girlfriend take over the xxx. Gearbox is superior in my opinion having been a professional mechanic for 18 years. You do 1 break in oil change at 300 miles and then every 3000 miles after that. Gearboxes always outlast belt drives as far as maintenance is concerned. You'll be happy with either bike, but if I was you I would get the mx5 before they decide to raise the price!

@@justinb1488 Right on that makes sense dude, either way I do appreciate your content I did think you like worked for Luna or something haha but that makes more sense. Awesome I appreciate all that information makes me feel much better about it because I'm just unsure of it and I'm a woodworker so mechanically not as smart to know what I trust as much. Interesting okay I am selling bikes out of the garage right now to buy one and I was thinking eride but you are making me really feel confident about the MX-5 and you do think the price will go up?! I was worried about that I need to get these bikes sold in order that son of a gun
