A few hundred dollars monthly -> light to mid-range spender... How people accepted and normalized this is just crazy. People are just spending money mindlessly to compete with each other without any logical explanation other than the rewarding feeling they get which is actually just virtual and not real. Don't get me wrong, I also paid about 40 euros in the last 2.5 months, and now I realize there is no end to spending on this game; I already feel a little regretful paying this much even though I still enjoy the game. I think you are completely right about your concerns; even in this situation, they still try to make people invest more with very frequent hero releases.

this is just the twisted view of whale creators like this one. the word whale in this context comes from casinos and the definition is basically the 1% of people that are responsible for 99% of the revenue. in f2p gacha games like this 99% of people dont even spend any money so you are basically already a whale if you spend money on a monthly card/a battle pass. in the genshin community it became accepted to call people that buy the monthly stuff "dolphins" and only the ones that actually top up with the big packs the "whales", i think this definition is okay but what the hell are we talking about if you spend 100-200 monthly and get called a "mid-spender", no hate towards this creator specifically but those people actually need to leave their phone and go outside for 15 minutes.

Yes our guild was # 1 full of top players in our server. Due to lack of reward in battle drill and Astral event was horrible many start quitting. They need new reward system at battle drill to complete for top guild, also need new content or many more will quit.

This but make battle drills easier to clear. If they are tied to the current hard seasonal drills, or to the guild ranking, people will flock to the top guilds more than ever, and even now with the current trash rewards, small guilds are pretty much dead and every server has maybe 2-3 big guilds with whales and dedicated players, and a big graveyard of dead guilds around them.

Battle drills should seriously offer them as guaranteed rewards at the end after you beat the boss. Right now, they offer a measly 500 diamonds. I’d rather take 5 stargazer pulls.

5k diamonds for every 10 stargazer pull would be 20k to get the 40 summons for a pity so 8 copies total to get to mythic + would be 160k if going to pity and another 120k so 280k to pity summon an S+. I feel that 5k cost would be high but anymore than that makes it beyond crazy, but if they don’t introduce summoning with diamonds soon it’s going to be a game breaker for me

I'm super low spender, and this is my first gacha, I only bought the noble passes which is the cheapest and what I can afford, and I play since the game came out, almost 93 days of game now, I still don't have a single hypo/celestial in supreme+, I have had terrible luck with the stellar crystals, I have already spent a total of 70 crystals and I only got 1 Reiner cause pity by spending 40 crystals... it feels horrible. I'm 2 copies short of Reiner to barely get him to mythic+ and make him my first hypo/celestial in mythic+, by this I mean I only got one copy per month with the guild coins (3 copies), an extra copy of the login event + the copy of the stellar crystals... again... feels horrible. I've been lucky to stay in the 60-40 arena champion ranks, luckily my server has few whales... but still, it's amazing how hard it's been for me to get copies of hypo/celestials. I know I've had very bad luck with stellar crystals, and if I have insane trouble getting one copy of hypo/celestial, I don't want to imagine someone who starts now or is f2p.

Hi Zeebo! Very good points. Also they should add 2 new towers which allows us to use cele/hypo tower that gives stellar crystals. Right now stellar crystals are so so scarce. The only way you get the premium units are by spending. Especially the celehypos which will take about 1 year for a f2p to save for an s+ scarlita 😩

I don't mind gathering the cheap rate-up letters every week ($7-9) and saving for cool new S rank heroes. Stellar crystals however are different. If you plan on buying every new stargazing hero you are looking at $500-1000 usd per month.

With how hard/expensive it is to get stellar crystals players off all types are going to despise any new stargazer hero. Even more so if the meta defining heroes are locked behind stargazer while the rate up heroes are underwhelming A tiers. Gems for stargazer kinda helps, but it still doesn't fix the core issue that they don't want you to have these heroes without forking over money.

what they need to do is release more guild challenges each season which would make it a lot easy to get these units and allow all players to buy summons with arena coins to help with this issues and not make it the top 100th people.Another way to fix this issues is add more trail of abyss level and put more of these summon in it each season. I'm excited for Talene but because I already have Reinier at Mythic+ and didn't go for Phraesto so probably I can get close to Mythic+ on my next Celestial/Hypogean BUT the lack of access to this units is annoying, they are SO expensive. I do think they should allow all players to buy 10 Stargazer tickets in the Arena Store, if you are in champions, you still get 5 (so 15 weekly) sounds way better.

The devs need to realise that the is a finite amount of $ and time in the world. The longer they take to address issues like this and other priority stuff in the game, the more players are going to leave and give their time and $$$ to other games that is fun to them. Right not this game is totally not fun. Totally feel like they are running a hamster wheel and we are just hamsters running on them giving them money. They are dropping new chars left and right without giving any overworld storyline tagged to them at all and expect players to drop $ to get them. Other modes are just endless grinding after grinding. Even pvp is also a grind on who spends more $ and have more units. Am top 20 in my server (after throwing a couple of thousands) but am really tired. Where is the new pve content monthly? All we get is a seasonal storyline that lasts barely a couple of weeks and is drought all the way for 4months?

I play the game for 88 days and I am three copies away from a M+ Reinier. At the beginning I played the game very casually and made some mistakes like buying a copy of Berial in the guild store. I went one time to pity on the star gazer and am now 14 pulls away from pity again.

I'm in a similar boat, playing less than you but doing my research on KZbin and stuff to avoid the classic newbie mistakes. Also got incredibly lucky in pulling my Reinier from the weekly roll in the all heroes event very early on(my 2nd or 3rd pull from that), also just got Scarlita in my last pull so there's that. So I too am sitting on Legendary+ Reinier with 1 copy, needing 3 more to finally mythic+ him. Initially I did ponder whether I should take Reinier all the way to supreme+ but at this rate there's absolutely no way. Early on all the guides said Reinier is S+ for every content, yet in reality I only use him right now(before mythic+) in arena(not even supreme, just the regular) to isolate key targets while bringing my Odie to the enemy backline to assassinate them 1 by 1. For all other content I find 0 use for him, and it seems that even with mythic+ he'll be relegated to just dream realm duty. Reinier, the former god of Celestials/Hypogeans according to everyone, already being power crept out by Phraesto and Scarlita(though she was available from the start too, it's just that the knowledge about her meta viability was lacking or perhaps the new content really allowed her to shine). So going all the way to supreme+ seems awfully redundant, as it doesn't do much for his dream realm power, definitely not worth 6 whole copies ffs. So yeah, eventually in like 2 months if I get lucky I'll finally have my Reinier at mythic+ but by than will he still be relevant? That's the crux of the issue right there. When even Celestials/Hypogeans aren't consistent and the time investment to get just 1 of them to usability levels is so long it's just a no-win situation unless you're a whale.

Typical Eironn teams are either the classic Eironn, Arden, Carolina, Damien and Thoran/Granny or variants with Scarlita and/or Phraesto. Why would you run Florabelle with Eironn? She's a physical DPS so doesn't benefit from Eironn's massive magic defense reduction. She offers nothing over Carolina which is the standard choice. And are you kidding me bro? If I can't even get Reinier to mythic+ yet why on earth are you telling me he's good alongside Scarlita of all things??? Also why do you feel the need to insult my intelligence by saying yellow essences are mostly earned from dream realm? @@Ka74367 Even if such a build is still actually preferable somehow it's still not a good reason to invest in Reinier past mythic+ as Phraesto and Scarlita are ultimately way better than him for anything non dream realm and in dream realm mythic+ is all you need for him. The biggest issue here is the 6 copies needed to go from mythic+ to supreme+ which is almost as much as it takes from 0 to mythic+(8 in total) so you really need a good reason to go all the way to supreme+ on any Celestial/Hypogean and Reinier's supreme+ skill simply isn't it...

Thank you so much for talking about it and not jumping on the hype train. I feel like you're really standing up for the game itself, as well as different groups of players. I personally would really love to see the schedule changed because, as you said, even if we get increased income, no way they'll give us enough to actually build all these heroes. I also think we're actually a bit to blame as the player base, since so many people have been crying out for a hype hero. I think the current situation is at least somewhat a result of that.

I've bought two gems month packs and currently halfway through the second rn, I'm not spending on anything else period My Reiner, thoran and carolina is only mythic and both the graveborns I haven't been getting for a month which is devastating I can't imagine investing in other celestials/hypos than Reiner because resources are so scarce for me as light spender and so I haven't been enjoying the game much anymore I can't get florabelle from rates she's only epic and she's important for eironn and Arden comp to push afk stages ( i push like 5 stages and then I'm stuck the replays shows paragon units with ex 15 which I cannot compete with😢)

@@robertedwinhouse4733 I did actually play the original AFK Arena for a while, right up until the release of Talene in fact. At that point and seeing how stupidly broken she was I realized that as a F2P player there is no way in hell I can compete in that game with Talene completely taking over the entire meta game. I did get 1 or 2 copies of her but it takes so long to get her to usable levels and getting further copies was simply not on the cards without spending a ton of money. That was the moment I quit AFK Arena back than, never to return. I was hoping the developers would learn from their mistakes in AFK Arena and make AFK Journey more accessible to the general population(everyone who isn't a whale/dolphin) but it seems like they haven't learned a thing. I'll keep playing as long as I can compete reasonably well in my server(top 100, sometimes top 50 in dream realm consistently, champion in regular arena, decent rank in supreme arena) but the moment I begin to seriously fall behind due to lack of power I'll simply quit. There's simply no way to continue to compete with the heavy spenders with such insane resource scarcity(mostly yellow essences and stargazing tokens but also basic things like diamonds) to finally get my regular(non Celestial/Hypogean) heroes to supreme+, so far only my Eironn is there and I got incredible luck drawing his copies, the 1 free copy from the first week reward was helpful too(I did my research so I prioritized him over Brutus and whoever else was there as a massive new player trap). Heck I only just finally got my Smokie to mythic+(and than instantly to supreme with acorns) with insane luck, getting him and another S tier hero from a single non pity epic recruitment 10 pull.

day 1 light spender and i only just got reinier to m+. what i dont really want is to be forced to spend all my diamonds on stargazing because if i can, i will. maybe if it has a weekly limit that leaves me with a net positive gain in gems, but i would rather have some other solution for consistent gazer tickets. maybe a new game mode or something

Great to see people being realistic here. Community in another I used to play would debate me endlessly unless I align my views with their copium-filled point of view. Rich players sustain the game and therefore have their rewards, some that I know of asks their F2P friend to play their account and they would come back when the main content drops. They don't have the time to actually farm and grind. Their F2P friends willingly maintain their account for free or low fees, so why not.

Totally agree. I'm Day one player and free to play. I play everday and hard try. I can't compete with soenders. I have 24k6 power, compared to 30-40k i'm nowhere. So far i have 7 supreme + and Reinier mythic + un 1 week i think... Yes it's hard, rly hard as a f2p. No more content, too many celes/hypo to quickly, no way to compete, i think i' m not gonna keep on playing... My guild is top 4 and already 7 tiny whales afk since 10 days+. Too bad, that game as potential but... Too bad...

Yes, the Stargazing is indeed incredibly inaccessible, and even if they let us use diamonds to Stargaze, it's not going to be cheap so F2P and light-mid spenders(honestly a few hundred bucks per month is not at all a light spender in my book but that's neither here nor there) so it won't actually solve the problem. The biggest issue though is with the Celestial/Hypogean heroes themselves. If they were all like Dionel or Berrial than it would be fine. Very powerful heroes at extreme(whale level) investment(paragon tiers) but not spectacular before that and not at all meta defining. However Reinier is absolutely meta defining for dream realm(though some of the new bosses kind of bypass him to an extent) and both Scarlita and Phraesto are absolutely meta defining for various PvE and PvP contents. Taline was super OP in AFK Arena, no reason to think she won't be here as well, so probably another meta defining hero. Basically Celestial/Hypogean heroes already make so many heroes irrelevant and with the very rapid release of new ones, soon every meta team will consist of 5 Celestial/Hypogean heroes making all the regular factions complete obsolete and pointless, so what's the point on continuing to release a ton of new heroes that aren't Celestials/Hypogeans if they're just going to be underperformers right off the bat...? On top of that, anyone less than a mid-high spender is actually forced to chase the meta in order to even compete. Since rewards are tied to rankings in the various modes so in order to maximize rewards you must chase the meta to even have a shot. If rewards were handed more generously, as in not tied to rankings nearly as much, than more people could have fun with the game using less than optimal teams without feeling like they're falling way too far behind to the point of complete demoralization. It would also make all the new non Celestial/Hypogean heroes valuable as people won't be forced to constantly chase the meta so whacky underpowered heroes could still be played and enjoyed.

In my clan we are a few light spebders (50-150€ a month, depending on offers and the progresion pack is aviable) and cele/hipo feels like a big braket between light spenders and high ones. Reinier and scarlita are a must and now is pharesto that is high on meta and i expect other 3 or more months to start investing on him and in the way could be 3 or 4 new ones so 💀

as f2p player, i don t think this is a big problem, is just another mecanic to ensure that ppl who are willing to spend more to get better results than a f2p, same as lvl system, or VIP system. for me the biggest problem in this game currently is the lack of summon incomes(like events or weekly content, the only content thats reset weekly and generate summon income is honnor duel ) and the replay functionally at one point is just useless cos all the team are just full S+ units so if you don t have that unit at S+ you can not copy the team. also the yellow essence to make a unit +15 its hella expensive idk if i will be able to do it this season if i want so upgrade another unit to +10 a feature to use red essence to make units +15 will be great for f2p cos most of the make a unit +20 is worthless in comparison of making a unit +15

I hear what your saying, but I don't feel like it's as big of an issue as you think it is. I use Alsa and Reinier in my Eironn, depending on placement, I am able to take down top 5 teams in arena. They are using scarlita, phraesto and dionel in their defenses. I mean, my alsa took does a scarlita and phraesto with the #1 ranked player on my server. So needing to pull for these "special/premium" heros are absolutely not needed. Just be smart on who you max out.

Given that everything it time gated, spending any money at all is just silly to me. You can't just go and fight whenever you want and enjoy your characters. So you're only ever spending money to play the game a bit, and in the late game stuff most of it is just busy work. Ring a bell at a lizard, chase a bird. Wow, my dream game. These 2 things to me are even bigger problems that need to be addressed. There should be some way to fight as much as you want, even if it doesn't yield much reward.

definitely not 800 gems per summon.. 500, no 10 pull discount like the rate up banner but its cel/hypo so its going to be worth the 2000 crystals extra, and more accessability to stargazes overall or buying crystals from other stores like arena store, or BRINGING BACK ARCANE LAB REWARDS!!! or even the recruitment store would be nice because currently we arent even getting many regular summons.. the game is really dry at the moment.

I do have access to the champions store, so I can M+ them faster than f2p...but goddamn even then it takes 2 months easily, with the champions store being the big chunk. For f2p it must be basically a constant downwards spiral, falling more and more behind the more meta celestial/hypos release. Just let people use diamonds.

i'm a light spender (probably put 150$-200).. i did buy 1 pack for stargezer and i did make champion and bought those since season start. I think your math is somewhere off, or i am very unlucky from the chest since the begging of the cage i have only gotten 1 stargazer (thisi s in 85 days on gameplay). So far i barely managed to make Rainer m+ (had to do full pity every time i summoned), i have enough guild currency to buy 1 copy from store and got like 4-5 stargazers left. It's very sus tbh.

This is bad, no doubt. However I don't see this changing. Celes/Hypos being that hard to obtain really gives whales that feeling that their money was worth spending. My server has about two whole guilds with heavy spenders. When the Districts went online, most of them couldn't hold a candle to the other servers Krakens. I have spent a couple hundred by now and ,oh boy...If from now on that's how gonna be, there'll be an exodus and not only from F2P.

I'm a spender(300€+) on a later server with less whales and I only have Reinier M+ and enough saved for another 2 copies of whatever I choose to go for...considering they mostly require M+ to be efficient...that's nothing. If it takes more than 2 months(for people with Champion store access) just to make one unit useful and in the meantime 2 new ones are introduced...that pacing is just fucked.

Make a cele/hypo meta to players to chase, let's say Phraesto, gather farm and resources to get him Myth+ to being usable during 2-3 months, then they release the new hypo/cele that powercreeps the actual one, so you will have a new objetive to chase, They making us chase the mirage of a carrot and never letting us catch it

I thought part of the design of these games was that you don't get everything(unless you essentially take out a mortgage for the money over time spent), and that part of the fun was being efficient. Not really interested in Talene, Scarlita will counter her in PVP and if you're doing the smokey push strat then she's not going to be especially useful in main pve modes either.

Im from south american and was am lucky to have income enough to spend on this game. I did it cause I was lucky with my pulls early on and was honestly having fun. Now Im just beyond angry and remorseful of investing in this game, it kinda feels like I spent a considerable ammount to just barely keep up. With districts Im now barely top 200 on dream realm, I cant reach top 50 on supreme, and thats cause Im in the top guild in my server and constantly top 20 in arena. 5 of my guilds whales just gave up with how bad the game has been, and still, no one can remove them from top spots from both arenas, those are now just completely inaccessible rewards, since with hos much they spent, they are likely a year ahead of us (and Im already a minority with how much I spent). Atm I decided to not spend anything and will only keep playing until I feel like the ammount I spent has payed itself or notice this is conpletely hopeless

Frankly, we need to see stellar crystals increased or give a free copy when members clear events surrounding hero releases, just like they did in afk arena

I stand by this position, this game is way too competitive. Players wouldn’t complain as much if the all the Daily resources rewards were not tied to ranks, but just completion of the activity. I think rank gating cosmetics, titles, Avatar boarders, and other non resource rewards are fair game for ranks. But putting core resources like invites, essense and coins behind a rank gate is a massive P2W move. This game will always be pay to win at its core, but you shouldn’t gate-keep basic resources from F2P players. It’s just bad business. Let players get essential resources without rank gating and come up with more non-essential rewards for ranks. Making this change will drastically improve the overall outlook for players.
