The difference between ndlovu and detroit that ndlovu is real choir with harmonies and detroit is only singing together which is big different
@TheHorselessCantor4 жыл бұрын
I agree that Ndlovu is definitely the stronger choir with the stronger harmonies. But the DYC has the capabilities to pull off some solid harmonies too...they just didn't show that nearly enough on AGT when they competed. DYC really brought the harmonies in their "return" performance (on the 2020 finale) and I was like, where were those harmonies when you competed?
@abiye80564 жыл бұрын
@@TheHorselessCantor they must likely learned those harmonies after.

Agreed, but they're also much bigger (more difficult to manage) and younger, on the whole. They also represent American pride (brilliantly), and Americans were the ones who were voting. I don't hold it against them for voting for Detroit instead of Ndlovu. Ndlovu still made a massive impact.

To reply to this actually as a member of the Detroit Youth Choir we had so much hate and people who didn’t vote for us it’s not favoritism it’s because we add flavor to our Blackness
@terri-leehendricks19622 жыл бұрын
@@carleyfoster1402 Well a lot of people seemed to disagree. No hate intended, but Ndlovu choir was much better. If you want to talk about flavour, they brought it; Performance? They brought it; not to mention their harmonies. Your choir did good as well, but they have exceeded all your performances by a mile. They brought Songs with an African twist, whereas you sang the same song. So I don't think flavour or originality was in your favour

Because we have a young man who is Asian who against all odds has an incredible talent that is rare, these youth can sing and they didnt make it in South Africa because they hate their own kind.. Doesn't South Africa have AGT? shame on South Africa for not allowing these kids sing and win in their home country... the members of the choir are able to connect emotion, are able to see faces, are able to sse color, and understand , comprehend emotion find love, marry, have lives .... Kodi on the other hand has only music to convey his talents and he does it extraordinarily well he deserved to win ... you made this about race and it isnt .. But South Africa makes it about race ...
@loosecannon5745 жыл бұрын
@@aroro9856 I don't think I read where anyone is making this about race. That would be silly because the top 3 were "colored" folk. it's about the voters and not AGT. America will vote for the one who has the best "story" and some talent. Kodi is talented, he's blind has autism and can play the piano and sing better than average. He's overcome a lot to be able to do that and I wish him well. However, I believe that the Ndlovu choir & V-Unbeatable deserved spots right up there next to him.

@@aroro9856 It wasn't a matter of the local Got Talent program "letting" them perform. In 2018, the choir made a video of an isiZulu version of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" (accompanied by an award-winning South African flautist). Scouts from AGT saw the video, encouraged the choir to audition, and so they did. BTW, South Africa did have a "Got Talent" show, but it ended in 2017.
