Waxer to have a good understanding of what of this city represents for the Salsa music genre.

I LOVE Sofia Vergara! As a fellow Latina who is a native English speaker and speaks Spanish at a near-native level, I’m glad she corrected the translator! I see this all the time in subtitles or situations like these where people who clearly don’t know the culture (they simply have a degree in Spanish & get jobs as translators) translate words, feelings, common sayings and idioms completely INCORRECTLY! It irks me! It loses meaning bc sometimes the words don’t translate 1:1. For example, in English one may say “I miss you.” In Spanish you can say, *me hates falta, te echo de menos, como te extraño * There are soooo many nuances and so much depth to the Spanish language that a person MUST understand the culture to make sure the translation captures the true meaning. Btw, Sabrosura is flavor…not spicyness (which isn’t even a word!).

You're correct. Spicyness would translate to something closer to sazón, not sabrosura.

Well, I think that "spiciness" could get that meaning across. In the end, it is that, flavor, sabor, sazón, ¡azucar!
