Amazing talent. So graceful on the ball, great ball control and vision. I don't know why he is put on the right wing. He should play centrally and develop his game as a central midfielder. In modern football, there is no point playing on the wing if you are not a proper forward, or trying to play as a pure attacking midfielder as this position has become a luxury top teams cannot afford. So he should just play a proper central midfielder where he shines the best.

Precisely, this kid is like a midfield Vinicius-version, just dribbling and so, not even as good as Vini to be honest. He has not proven himself in any kind of form that can be taken in to consideration as a great player. He could have outperformed his peers at age when he signed for RM but currently, he's no where near the level of the current same age players in the high league. Look at Vinicius Jr., he's not that a great attacker just yet because he has to work on his finishing, but his dribbling is much better than Odegaard. From another approach, Odegaard does give out quality passes, but his passes to be taken into deeper tactics is not considered dangerous since you won't be seeing these positioning in La Liga. Won't even see such in Premier League, because the defense line in minor league is not hard. Either he needs to have a big jump to play at major leagues for a few seasons to prove his edges, or he's definitely a flop.

When i last read and watched videos about Odegaard, a common theme i used to notice was that he would try to take on 5 players by himself which worked for a little bit but he would eventually lose the ball and of course slow down the gameplay. Now that I see him, his overall game has improved, he is so much faster and decisive with his passes. If he gave some of those passes to attackers like Icardi, Kane or Rashford they would definitely convert them to goals so that is definitely a positive. I also notice that he doesnt move the ball to corners as he used to do before but one thing he needs improvement in my opinion is finishing. Some of those shots went directly to the goal and they didnt seem that strong. Also he is not as strong as players with his body mass like rashford or dele alli; i feel he needs to gain more muscle mass to catch the eye of recruiters from bigger clubs

The reason why he struggled in Heerenveen was mainly because he didn't have good players around him, the strikers did fail so many opportunities oftenly when the chance was created by Odegaard. He have been better this season with Vitesse now, but i still think he should be making the passes, dribbling etc closer to the goal, instead of doing it closer to the midfield. if he was expressing his quality more on the last 2/3 i think he can score and get more assists.
