Thomas and Percy’s pranks are getting a bit out of hand, and Toby has had enough. A simple prank should scare them straight, right?

"And every year on the date of the accident..." "BORING! Never heard that before!" XD! That line gave me a chuckle. Daisy almost plagiarized Percy's story. Also my god was that backstory of the Japanese ghost in Hiro's story so terrifying with the image of her dead body lying beside the line. In a way this reminded me of Silent as the Grave with someone too telling the story that should never be told until they receive a visit from it. Never expected to see Toby playing a ghostly trick on Thomas and Percy before, but hey. Also, thanks for having me as Henry in it!

This is only the second story and it's already proven to be the most scariest and probably the most disturbing, especially the ending. I'm guessing the whole old engine and demon is a reference to Timothy.

As Sodor is tiny, with the Mainline being little over 80 miles long and full of souls of heros who will protect their engines, she may not be there long. Honestly she is intruding on a certain (if a foolish coward)_of Dane, if she even touches water, well to quote a absolute maniac from gaming "You think I am strange, that I am deranged! You want to stop my scheme, demon in green who can't think what I think, at least I dare to dream!" And this is why ghosts are terrifying, because their strength is not measured by muscles or skill, it is emotions the stronger the emotion the stronger the ghost but that is also their weakness, Sodor is a magical place unlike any other, and after listening to this, do you honestly think a ghost has a chance against those it wronged in bulk. She made a big mistake, just like Stanley and those who pulled him into the mines.

I know the girl’s death in the story was tragic, but she really shouldn’t blame the railway for what happened. She shouldn’t have been walking on the railway tracks to begin with. Even though the train was running late, that’s no excuse. My opinion, her vengeful haunting is unjustified, especially once you consider the fact she took the lives of innocent people & engines. Although, I think that’s the point. Her crusade isn’t meant to be justified. She simply lashing out at the world for what happened to her because she can’t recognize that it was her own fault Regardless, I think this is a great story. Keep up the good work.

My favorite from this year's collection, hands down! The incorporation of Japanese elements - none the least of which given how prevalent Japanese ghost stories are - was an ingenius element! In addition to how most CGI Thomas characters like Hiro are mostly exempt from the spookier stories like these, are just a few of the reasons why I love this one so much!

Alright now this was a great story, at first I thought it was going to end with the whole they realise that it wasn’t a prank and it was the ghost for real and it does that but it also ends with a twist that they’ve chosen another victim. Plus the story itself it’s very ominous, and it’s nice to have a hero be given some time in the spotlight. Regardless this was a great one

Ah heck! What a story here. And this is just the second story. Interesting theming on using a different cultural ghost here. And having Hiro have a role here. I don't think I've seen him in any spooky story before. It's nice to see more of the TV series characters used in them. The ending was really a shock. Looks like this Japanese ghost has now invaded Sodor. The engines and everyone else on the island best find a way to appease her. Or else the island is in danger of becoming an abandoned island. Also the bit in the beginning. I didn't expect that little prank there. Anyways a very interesting, scary, and a very shocking story here. Well done on this!

Hello everyone. This is the author of the story that @22Tesla adapted. Thought I'd throw in some trivia. - The idea of an onryo haunting Sodor was inspired by Japan's love of trains and my own love of J-Horror classis like Ringu. - Akane's name is an homage to Akane Tendo from Ranma 1/2, whereas her surname references to Noriko Hidaka, her voice actor in the 1989 anime adaptation.

I think I see why the six elements tell their stories from the 2nd series. Flynn Sparks’ story was about fire where there was molten metal from the scrapyard, the fire at the Halloween party, and there were fireworks. Carson Graves’ story was about death where it talks about a ghost and then seeing the fate of the engines on British Railways. Jasper Stone’s story was talking about rocks, rubble, and stones where where there was the quarry at the MSR, the quarry was collapsing and the rocks and stones are falling on Stanley, and seeing the rubble killing Stanley instantly after being buried alive by the rubble. Wolfgang Shephard’s story was talking about life where there were birds chirping and an engine who is scrapped is living his final moments while talking to Oliver. Victor Hudson’s story was talking about water where there was the sea happening at the harbor and Salty’s sea tales. And finally Jefferson Gale’s story was talking about the wind where it happened at the scrapyard In Barrow In Furnace and even the blowing against the dead bodies of the scrap engines. This all seems very interesting to think about.

Golly, that is the most haunted story I’ve ever heard from Japan and it’s so tragic for the girl to have a terrible fate but she shouldn’t have been on the railway if she didn’t want to get hurt but from what I think it was her own fault for not being careful about the risks and consequences that she could have taken her own life in revenge, just like the curse of the tunnel but that was different from that and I know that from previous experience with one of the clients at Aldingbourne who doesn’t listen to advice about safety first because you know what they say safety first is the number one rule

When I decrypted the title, I got Tetsudo No Anke as the answer. Translated into English from Japanese, that means "Iron Degree Questionnaire." Only thing I can gleam from that is that perhaps this story has to do with Hiro, Kenji, or some other Japanese character? I'mma be real honest. I would pay to see someone adopt this story into an actual manga. Also, Jesus..........I think Akane should've risked getting her kimono dirty, so as to not become the vengeful ghost she became.

It’s interesting that both stories so far focus on Toby as a main, though that could just be a coincidence. although Jesus Graves did not have to go that hard Now I’m looking forward to Fiddle Yard Fright…

It might be because Toby wasn't in any of the stories from the first 2 batches Oddly enough Toby wasn't a major player in the first 2 seasons of the TV series but was in the third season there as well

Did the author mean to title this story "Tetsudō no Akane" (鉄道のあかね / Akane of the Railway)? I speak a bit of Japanese and 'Anke' doesn't really seem to make sense. Otherwise, I wonder what Sparks will have to say about this story? I like the friendly bantering dynamic between him and Graves!

I think that you made a mistake with the title, if the girl's name is AKANE and not ANKE. But, DAMN, that was bloody brilliant AND terrifying! I just hope that poor James will be alright. So, now that the vengeful spirit has made an impact in Britain, does that mean the USA is next, or will Ireland be unfortunate enough to be our "buffer"? And considering how vindictive Japanese spirits can be, I don't see a reprieve coming any time soon, unless she makes a full trip around the world and her tour finishes where it all started? Thankfully, I didn't use headphones while listening to this, but I very much appreciated the warning.
