Watched this movie in Huntington Beach when it first came out 🏄♀️ 16 years old and probably surfed HB the very next day 😁🏄♀️😁

Surf theater. Many good surf movies there. I went to see 5 Summer Stories for 2nd time instead of going with friends to see Peter Frampton. People said I blew it. I smiled cuz I knew better.

At the Surf theater downtown? That is what we would do. Watch a surf movie, get stoked, and go surfing the next morning.

Assisti esse filme em 1975 no cinema no Guarujá. Tinha 17 anos. Na semana seguinte comprei minha primeira prancha de surf . Monoquilha. 6,5" Modelo stinger com shape do Daniel Friedman. Bons tempos.

The difference between the Australian surfers & Hawaiians is clear at this time. The shorter boards of the Australian surfers were more multi directional. The Hawaiians were down the line surfers.

Yeah, Shaun Tomson describes this difference perfectly in the movie Standing Room Only, the hawaiians were surfing with a more traditional style, pretty much like the pioneers Greg Noll, Mickey Muñoz, Ricky Gregg, and the aussies were trying to surf the big waves like they surfed their smaller waves at home, with a looser style.
