Man that Indignation chant is 10x's better with the JP va. When he started chanting it I freaked out cause I knew Indignation was coming. I played it in English but I'll switch it to Japanese for my 2nd playthrough

they look cool, I just wish the bosses mystic artes had more impact, it just feels like a special move not a mystic arte. also the lack of cut ins really took away a lot of the charm as well as duo mystic artes. other than that the theatric work is the best I've ever seen in any tales game.

Perfect dodge is so broken, some of those MA's are rendered completely worthless. Eizen's, in particular, is so easy to take no damage from. Also, where's Muzet?

Perfect Dodge is not really that broken, the fact that Indignation is quite difficult to dodge. and you also cannot cancel your attack to dodge which gives you trouble sometimes especially when attempting to perform 5-skill combo and you see an incoming attack.

While I quite like the idea of enemy Mystic Artes to be dodgeable in this game, it was WAYYY too easy (minus Indignation which to be fair, we all WANT that ability to go off) If they're staying on this route I would like them to increase the dodge difficulty. There was too little "OH SHIT" value on enemy MAs (again, except Indignation. That chant had me screaming)

you need to have a combo of 5 different artes used beforehand in order to trigger it. one easy example could be three artes on the ground, then a launcher, and one aerial arte, it does need to all connect, though. good way to practice would be the Solo character training trials in the Training Grounds.

Iirc you dont need to do 5 different artes, just 5 hit combo minimum to trigger the second mystic. But youre right, every hit need to connect

As flashy as they look, I still think this is one of the first Tales of games I'll skip. The gameplay just seems so different compared to the other games, and the Hi-Ougi's don't seem that dangerous anymore. They're basically just an enhanced normal spell at this point.

That true, I older games when boss go overlimit it become really scary, you can't afford to get hit because if you do they will unlease Mystic Arte and kill you immediately but in Arise you can easily dodge the Mystic Artes.

@@ianal0028 I find this one much more enjoyable than just waiting for yourself to get hit by the mystic arte then heal right after. For Arise you know it's coming but you don't know how it will hit you and you really have to rely on skill than just tanking the mystic artes

@@novartez8051 Arise bosses's Mystic Artes is a joke and it doesn't require any skill at all because very easy to deal with. There is no pressure when bosses goes into overlimit like older games.

Not a fan of this games Mystic artes tbh. I felt the overall quality of tales games and graphics have significantly improved in Arise but the mystic artes are very lackluster. Graces, Vesperia and Berseria = best mystic artes imo
