Belated thank you. When the game briefly threw switch blasts at me, I hardly understood squat about 'em and wound up not using them nearly as much as I should've. One Zestiria play and this video later, and the replay's shaping up to be a lot more fun.

I remember this video when I was still early in Berseria's story, and it helped me. After a while, I learned of two more ways to do Switch Blast, which one is to disengage of the fight and hold the button while changing just to regain souls if you needed without triggering the attack or using an arte after the switch. It helps when I was in low health or low in souls, while you can acquire souls regardless of which Switch Blast way you go for, it was nice to take a breather when the going got tough. The other is doing combos with the Switch Blast attacks. So, to me, 6 ways to utilize the Switch Blast mechanic. Love how much usage and strategy you get from this unique fighting feature.

Some 230 hours into the game and never knew about the instant guard switching and break soul switching. I only found out about the Higher Heights mechanic from Zestiria making it to this game with magical spells. So many hours of suboptimal gameplay. Now I can effectively use magic casters!

Trying to find information on what to do with the rare items we get from drops. Selling them only gives me gold, but this video did teach me more about the game. Playing on chaos mode and I have never used switch blast combos. Kinda lost on the game but o well.

The break soul switch into velvet is really actually nice, I use Velvet to do soem massive damage, knock them down with either Hell's claw or mega sonic thrust then switch into eizen, the damage is intimidating to say the least.

I notice that sometimes I will get an effect on Eizen that will have a shield above it, it will say Defense +30%, or sometimes Velvet will get a boot above her bar and it will say Speed +20%. Where do these come from and how do I activate them? I saw that you got a focus icon above Eizen in your gameplay at one point. How did you activate that?

Gj man. I think the most usefull from my expirience ( game has tutorial about switch blast RT into soul break, others not ) is actually break soul switch blast either with velvet or eleanor, because it doesn't break combo, safe switch with LB can break combo and just standart switch blast can continiue combo count easy with eleanor or velvet, so honestly there is no real hidden mega mechanic with it, use soul break switch for most damage output ( characters on sub deploy with +1 soul, which makes it easier ).

Do you know how to change characters in battle with the sub menu ones? I did it accidently during a BG special art with multiple characters but can't seem to figure out how to put it back until battle ends L2 and R2 just switch round whos in currently active battle.

Question. If you use the level up dlcs when you haven't met the whole party, will the rest of the party members be at a much lower level than anyone else or will they be the same level as the rest of the party when they join?

Up or down on D-Pad if you're using a controller, you have to have reached at least a certain point in the game. The controls on keyboard can be seen in the options menu.

When you're using keyboard you have to press space to choose the first character and then space on the second character you want to have switched. Make sure to change your controls though, otherwise space will only let you visit the characters current progress.

U have to do the chain by pressing forward Forward Up Down And all again so then they'll do almost two times the whole row of mystic artes:-)

how is rokuro btw is he good? i only started playing and i have been just been playing velvet for simplicties sake. I know his Break soul isnt the best but i heard you can use it to extend combos and also im asking how he is overall .

***** i have been playing him . i got to say hes a lot more satisfying to play as then velvet . you can raise his stun rate with his BS and not to mention landing multi counters is so satisfying ! and you can set up his combos to flow so naturally

His counter strike is his best asset IMO. He is just amazing, can counter (and it makes him take no damage from that attack) a lot, and dodge when you are out of souls to refill and then counter again.... insanely tanky if you time it right.

yep i found out how to exploit it when ever bosses do their big attacks and once you get the second counter off you get that extra hit where he pulls out the sword on his back and dose crazy damage

I just got back into this after 2 years, but switch blast is a pretty useless mechanic other than for dual mystic artes (velvets break soul just does so much more damage than switch blast because I reached herb stat cap on velvet for everything except defense which is useless), just use the first mystic artes to gather souls instead because its stronger. Had to just spam switch blast on all the characters I didn't use just for the titles, but all I need now is seeing the mystic artes.

Overly complex battle mechanics to be honest, its like temporal time mechanics just keeps annoying your mind especially when you stop playing for 2-3 years come back to the game not remember how it is because its not straight forward and there's no decent guide in game to explain these things properly.

actually just got back into it, and after looking up info on the combat I realized that I was overthinking a lot of it, and it's not actually that hard the second time around.
