Gonna be spending a significant amount of my weekend on this. Tales of Graces became my favorite game in the series pretty much instantly once it released, and stayed that way until Berseria came out years later. Graces still has a special place in my heart, do this remaster is right up my alley. The characters are all super fun to control, and the tweaks they made to the standard Tales battle system up to that point keep fights pretty entertaining. It's been years since I last played it, but I remember chaining together ridiculous combos with Hubert, just sliding around gunning down monsters and then chopping them up with his lance-form weapon. It will be fun to get back into the swing of things!

Tales of Graces was quite literally the PEAK of the franchise. After graces the other games just didn't have the same quality or content like the former (mainly cuz Bamco rushed every game out post Graces F). When you think of what makes a Tales of game a Tales of game, Graces is always the correct answer
@dndamn12 күн бұрын
Graces is good but I'll still take Vesperia or the Xillia series over it
@genesisSOC11 күн бұрын
I haven't played Graces yet but Symphonia is the peak for me. Phantasia, Eternia, Symphonia and Abyss are the big amazing and replayable 4. Beseria was okay, Zestiria wasn't that great, and Vesperia was awful. Haven't played any of the others. I hope Graces is as good as the big 4, but since it has the "CC" system instead of "TP," I'm already not that excited.

My favorite game in the entire series, and I've played all of them (JP-only versions and a lot of the offshoot games too), I'm definitely gonna buy this once I whittle down my backlog a little more. Aside from the endearing characters, the combat really opened my eyes to how fun action RPG combat really can be. It's nothing like the games in the series before it, in that regard.

Despite the advertisement, not ALL previously released DLCs are in this remaster. The Code Geass, Hatsune Miku and BoA collab DLCs are not included. Skip Childhood is missing on the first launch into the Grade Shop but it could be available in a NG+ proper, nobody has reached this point yet to check. Good remaster otherwise. PC version plays best thanks to the ability to push the framerate way up = lower frametime = lower end-to-end input latency = action combat plays better. My monitor goes up to 120fps and this remaster can run at that framerate.

Tales of Graces is one of the few Tales games that I've never played, due to having felt overwhelmed by how regularly those games had been coming out by the time I originally picked up Tales of the Abyss back in the day, so I skipped everything between ToA and Tales of Xillia. I definitely need a combat guide before I'd consider getting graces. When I tried it on ps3, it felt like I was button mashing and it was so ineffective for me that I was better off letting the cpu do all the combat while I occasionally babysat the items. And I've never had this problem in other tales games with the other style of battle (not even xillia 2, where you had three completely different weapon sets with two layers of commands each by the end of the game). For me, it never felt like I could get the move I wanted to perform when I wanted to perform it cus I had to go through this chain of four commands in order, and yeah, I could switch the buttons to go onto another chain, but then where in that chain was I? I'm fine with the CC over the TP, my issue is how do I get to use the move when I want to use it. I had the same issue with Zestiria and I feel like I'm still waiting for the series to go back to a combat system more similar to Xillia
@davidvinc11 күн бұрын
I hear you, the combat system can be a bit of a hurdle for some.
@tombrooke128111 күн бұрын
You simply look at their weaknesses and find an attack that is as early in the chain as you can to hit them with, every subsequent hit after will classed as hitting a weakness so just keep those combo's coming, it does take some getting used to but eventually you remember which weakness is on which direction of the controller and battle becomes fluid and rewarding, it's just practice, don't give up!

I have the PS3 version and I was on the fence of getting this one, I may just have to experience it again. Mainly because I love love love the Tales of Series but mainly this is my favorite besides Besersia (remaster/remake please) and Arise, in most recent years.
