Amazing. I feel like on the Super Famicom that Tales of Phantasia was punching far above it’s weight, but was paradoxically hampered as well. The PlayStation version feels like it can finally “cut loose”, if that makes sense.

There's rumors that Bandai namco wants to remake or at least remake the older games and as great as these collections are for collectors some folks just want to play these older games on modern console

You're a true collector among many, I can't compete there nor really have the interest, but it's interesting to see collectors collections. It's a nostalgic pick and when the character is moving faster, is it because the video is sped up or is there a run button? It seems the normal pace of moving about is walking, which is cool. I think for nostalgic comparisons, this looks like a better one from the time gameplay wise. I'll check your channel out some more to see what you showcased similar and then some of other games. I have run into a PS nostalgic one, but it's a newer one, which I'm curious to see how well it evolved. And for sure other newer ones which I plan to showcase, just piecing videos and ideas together while juggling life.

This is kinda neat. I wish we would got psp ver with english translation. I like image on psx looking nice I think would be best. Phantasia is one of best story / character wise - berseria - vesperia - abyss - symphonia.

I love this game and I finished it on my PSP I thought that fighting the monster in the battle arena 10 times in a row to fight the special character to get good weapon was hard until I fought Odin that was very hard has anyone else had a hard time fighting Odin? You can't beat him until you get the special move and you get that when you sleep at the inn at your hometown later in the game

Damn that looks incredible! Gonna have to pick this up. I beat the imported SNES version back in the day - without knowing a single word of Japanese! I also picked up the GBA version from Pink Gorilla when I was visiting Seatle and was planning to play it on my Analogue Pocket soon. Why is the GBA Version so bad?? I have to go do some research now.

Information on the box is not true. Is says that only 1 player can play. But that is not true. Game allows to play 4 player coop. Also it supports DualAnalog and DualShock controllers with vibration function.

Well, I keep saying you can't have too many copies of Tales of Phantasia. Already have it for SNES (both languages), Playstation (both languages), GBA and a rom on my Playstation Mini. Not so sure about the long box. Makes it look like that copy belongs with the Saturn games, which would be great if there was a version of it that came out on the Saturn.
