@okefenokee_rabbit3 жыл бұрын
The "lost media" quality is largely how I got interested in the Okefenokee to begin with. Before the original-quality source audio, live sound recordings, huge plethora of additional photos, and finally the complete footage reel were uncovered, the existence of this ride seemed incredibly cryptic and vague to anyone who hadn't experienced it in person. There was so much to piece together and fill in that I had to know more.

cool fact: its possible that the okefenokee might've had a promotional reel when it first opened, since speelunkers cave had a promo video for its original opening, its not hard to think that the okefenokee might've had one recorded for the 1967 iteration
@okefenokee_rabbit3 ай бұрын
It did actually have a promotional filmed in exactly the same fashion as the one for the Spee-Lunker Cave, although I already have a silent, discolored version of it in my channel that you've likely already seen. If you look up "Six Flags Over Georgia 1967" on KZbin, the version with color and sound should be one of the first results.

Who knows. The lost media has been really lucky these recent years with finding some interesting and huge finds like the lost and banned episode of Sesame Street and the JBVO DBZ request. Maybe there's still surviving footage of the whole Tales Of Okefenokee ride in its entirety somewhere and we just haven't discovered it yet.
@NightFangClash7 ай бұрын
As much as I hate to admit it, the only way we'll ever see what this ride was like in its entirety outside of audio and concept art is if Six Flags Over Georgia brings back Tales Of Okefenokee. That, however, is unlikely considering how popular Monster Mansion is and how people today would most likely consider any Tales Of Okefenokee return racist.

What is the picture at 2:42?
@okefenokee_rabbit2 жыл бұрын
That thing in the foreground is part of the fiberglass boat. Each of the watercrafts (modeled after Sioux bull boats) had these protruding poles around the rim that you could hold onto. In the background, you can see some of the briars lining the hillside around the entrance to the rabbits' burrow. That picture is actually the only photograph of the storm that I've ever seen.

What did every thing look like in the refurbishment?
@okefenokee_rabbit5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be able to tell you anything about the mid-seventies redesign that you can't already infer from the photos we have. The ride just sort of looked worse overall; most the animated figures were given ugly tight-fitting clothing to prevent people from tampering with and stealing it, as well as other cosmetic alterations such as new fur. Changes made among all of the rabbits in particular included having their noses painted red, their ears shortened, and the fur around their eyes removed to form a weird ring of "skin" around them.

Okay but why does the magic rabbits box’s say Mr Rabbits Magic?
@okefenokee_rabbit5 жыл бұрын
It reads, "Mr. Rabbit's Magic Show". Keep in mind that the caped magician rabbit was never intended to be the actual Mr. Rabbit, and that the box was simply labeled that way due to an oversight.

1:16 What is that thing twitching on the ground? Based on the concept art, I think it is supposed to be chicken's foot?
@goatprince14 жыл бұрын
Close guess; it's a chicken's wing. On either side of the ghost scene, there was an animated chicken. One looked like the chicken you see in the Lozzi illustration, and one was a bizarre, abstract creation that looked more like a stick figure with feathers glued onto it. (i.imgur.com/5fmwCaI.png) I'm not sure which one is shown in the footage though, becuase they seem to have switched sides at least once according to Tim Hollis.

@@goatprince1 (I know this is a old comment) I think it’s the “Lozzi” one, and that it could have been one of the changes that was made during the time of this being recorded to Tim’s photos (like with the fur of Mr. Rabbit that I think you mentioned in another comment). Though, it doesn’t look much like a chicken to me from how the video is shot, so it might be something else?

What was the colors of Mr. Rabbit?
@okefenokee_rabbit4 жыл бұрын
Each Mr. Rabbit figure initially had white fur, but over time, the fishing hole and rabbits' burrow figures were retrofitted with dark brown fur (which appears black in Tim Hollis's photos), the kidnapping and bee chase figures with light blue fur (akin to the original acrylic concept paintings by Art Lozzi), and the washboard band figure with light brown fur. The only one that I'm not sure was ever given a different fur color was the cow-milking Mr. Rabbit, as I've never seen any photographic evidence of this. All of these inconsistencies were remedied during the ugly mid-seventies cosmetic overhaul, when each Mr. Rabbit figure was once again given white fur.
