Wow I have hit three or four seriousLy dark episodes in a row tonight. Toyah Wilcox is gorgeous here and so young! Brilliant work. So much talent in a small frame.

This gives a true and stark insight into the modeling and advertising industry. When your beauty fades, or you're dispensable, you're nothing to the agents, photographers or producers. It makes me so sad.

Actually, this is true in all areas of life. Once a woman becomes a certain age she becomes invisible.

@@dianeharbin9346 In my opinion because for decades men have been more dominant in industries, and pushed women to the front both advertising their beauty designing this expiry, and it always held. A huge majority of men are invisible too 'over certain age', unless they made name for themselves, but they never get projected the in the same manner. Hopefully industry will continue to transition and recognise many thousands of women older are beautiful and smart. That will happen through upcoming generation, not while the older dominant men still exist. ✌️

People / women don't always wear make-up to be attractive; sometimes it's to ward others off, more like war-paint?! Being 'attractive' can be a hassle.

Insecurity; someone that gets their self-worth solely from being young & 'attractive' to others, is set for a fall. Quite a deep episode from TotU!

I'm totally amazed by how similar Toyah looks in this compared to Theresa Russell in the 1980 movie Bad Timing. Obviously she's not quite as beautiful as Theresa but she looks uncannily like her in this episode.

It's who you are not what you look like that counts the most, although... what attracts someone in the beginning, or first impressions do count. But I will say, a persons speech makes a huge difference. It doesn't matter what someone looks like, if they're stupid, brash, have a foul mouth, and are ignorant and prejudice it makes them ugly.

Marigold put all of her efforts into her looks in effort to win back Paul, as her looks were all she had. But, Paul is now blind and therefore cannot appreciate her beauty. He just hears her ugly speed /accent and his new wife has a beautiful, soft voice /accent, so there is no competition. She's totally outgunned

Displaying a whole range of emotions, I have to say I was astonished by Toyah's quite superb acting, really impressive and quite brilliant. Never had an inkling. A hideously disfigured face as well as blind, Paul eventually got his just desserts, shame it took ten years to happen rather than soon after he dumped her. But why was Sophie was with him?

Yes, Toyah Wilcox....a great actress and she's a talented singer too....punk rock was her thing in the early eighties. She was great in Jubilee as the pyromaniac!! And yes, Paul did get his just desserts. The price of fame!!
