Same, if I ever belonged to an astartes it would be the world eaters I just feel a connection with them that I do not have with any other legion. A priest so desperate to perform the perfect devotion to the emporer that he unwittingly becomes slaneshh and can't even see his devotion has been coopted Or an apothecary who is so obsessed with curing thw black rage that he starts to create a cure that is a disease. A parasite that suppresses it, but in turn becomes a Eugenisist and begins to alter the genome of hos brothers until he unwillingly becomes a plague marine

I was first introduced to WH40K in '98 and have slowly taken in the lore since. I would come back to it every couple years and learn more and more. Couple highschool buddies played the tabletop but I would just watch, as it was not really my thing at the time. Plus I am a huge Roman literature and history buff. My best most beloved dog, a bully that died about 6 years ago now, was named Crixus. Named him after Spartacus' general, as I was always drawn to the roman slave revolts. So needless to say Waking Dogs and Broken Chains hit a special place ❤. Absolutely. Fantastic!

You know i was addicted to heroin for many years and now im addicted to methadone the pain of not having opioids in me every day is more than i can bare for mor than 48 hours and it feels exactly like the Butchers nails are described i have a feeling that the one who came up with it has very close relation to opiate addiction. The withdrawals are a pain you have to experience to understand and once you have you will fear it for the rest of your life and do ANYTHING to not feel that again. Today i have been off methadone for 24 hours are im starting to feel the desperation and fear and anger and frustration of being a slave to my own brain chemistry. Thankfully i will have a week of new doses in three hours and i can sleep and smile again. If this helps anyone to never go near opoids then i can die happy. If you have to do drugs stay away from it not even a benzo comedown can compare its worth than anything you will ever go through and you will hurt rob steal cheat it will eat your soul. Stay away from heroin.

For me, Angron's story really crystallized just how truly insidious the Nails are. They are not only a constant, looming promise of physical agony, but also the denier any other sensation. Even abject sorrow isn't worthy of feeling unless quickly attached to directed, murderous rage. I can't imagine a day in such a state, much less millenia. Being moments from his escape before being promised eternity in that iron maiden would override any other concern.
