I'm sure this video is quite old but thank you. My first time through this game... Hit this boss and was flabbergasted. Leveled to 17, bought equipment, poison antidotes and amulets, life tonics, turned off all spells except the group heal, both fire damage spell/skill and healing/cure. Spammed the fire attack on Yuri and dodged as many attacks as possible. Didn't have to use the poison pots. Beat him right after watching the video. Thanks a bunch!

Almost everyone I've seen calls this one broken. :D I think what screwed it up was that it had very short transitions between animations, yet none of its attacks could be interrupted. I actually prefer to use Rita for this, using her 'Rudolph' attack to knock it off its feet quickly (you can get behind it and execute the attack without having to turn around, so you want to be in Manual for this). Mainly trying to get it stunned by the flowers is what works best. First time gets you the grade boost, second time you can unload Rita's overlimit and fireball it to hell. :) I got like 25 grade first time I killed it because of that secret mission.

I got destroyed by this wolf... got the closest to the 2000s HP before biting it. I'm glad it wasn't that I suck, though.

Beating this thing on your first try. THAT is one impressive feat. I honestly think this is the third hardest boss in the game. Outside of the final boss, and the other boss in Tarqueron. This wolf SUCKs

For those who are curious, that spell with the greek letters is actually "Zeta times Psi equals Phi", whatever that means. It's just trying to look cool by throwing symbols on the name, I guess. Also, I'm such a nerd for being able to read greek off the top of my head.

i died to this boss 17 times(yes i actually kept track). i was leveling for hours, still could not beat it. checked my settings, the difficulty was on medium. changed to easy and i took out the boss first try. boy was i pissed.

Thanks for playing through this. Also I like how you are laid back while you play this mostly. There are just too many LPs on here in general. Some are too try hard and some are just bad, but yours is enjoyable. So thanks again. I just won't have time to play this nor ever get a Xbox 360 so I am enjoying watching this on some downtime I have.

Before i even bought the game, i played the demo. This boss is on the demo and i had never beat it. then i got the full game and it took me about 4 tries before beating it. The definitive edition too me 1 try since i figured out a stun lock you can do with Overlimit.

I didn't find Magus too difficult personally. You do have to watch out for his Dark Matter spell though.

Hahahahaha watching this now because I bought the definitive edition for the switch and by god holy, I died at least ten times so far. This random difficulty spike is so off putting! If they cut his hp in half, it would have been a dope boss fight. But once I get halfway through his HP, everyone’s dead but Yuri and I have like an apple gel left. A whole mess!

I had so much difficulty with this boss that for the first time in my life I had to change the game's difficulty because I literally died in the first three blows of the boss, which were impossible to dodge

I don't play many games in the Tales franchise anymore, but if I remember correctly, they always had a ridiculously huge difficulty spike on the third/fourth boss. ToS2 was like that with Ventus in the first dungeon, that was my first game over, but fighting Hawkie almost killed me, too. It's not cheap, moreso breaking you in for later bosses.

This boss sucks, this is about as far as i was able to get, literally the boss, and then fails... ... and the secret mission is practically mandatory for this fight... ... 8:19 Karol must have lived through every single apocalypse, and then some, to make THAT comment. 10:31 Rita confirmed next apocalypse.

I did this boss with a group of 3 others... took us around 2 or so hours of getting our asses handed to us to finally kill it, and when Karol said "It hardy put up a fight" I lost it (especially considering the fact we didn't have him in the fight).

I'm sure it was meant to be a mini boss, after the Aspio boss. They just put the hp randomly, like 32000 when you can barely do 10000 before every character dies.

Rita is not that weird in looking at them as alive, the magic they use is not too dissimilar to how Rail Lovers and in particular Steam Lovers feel about locomotives. To many a Steam Engine is alive not fictionally but in their hearts, the reason Thomas the Tank Engine came to be was due to the fact that a man as a child heard two steam engines working up a steep climb. To that boy the front engines puffs and hisses sounded like "I can't do it, I can't do it!" while the engine helping it kept saying "We will do it, we will do it!" as they fought gravity and reached the top. To many myself included steam engines are alive and have souls of their own, much as any AI that is sufficiently advanced to know killing is wrong without anyone telling it is alive and has a soul.

So, yes, at PAX, I showed you that I was into Vesperia. But yesterday, THIS BOSS. I'm playing Definitive Edition so I had the luxury of Level Boosters. I looked at this boss' stats and he was Lv. 20. My party was Lv. 15, so I said "screw it" and used a booster to just ahead 10 levels. Even with that boost, I barely managed to survive and beat this guy because OH MY GOD. Whoever designed this boss should be fired lmao Gotta say though, the ocean scene was well worth the frustration.

Actually I've beaten this game twice. First time I encountered Gattuso I fucked it up on hard difficulty. You just gotta hit the sleeping gas flowers. Also, I know this is obvious, but killing the cubs first is mandatory. They are really weak though. I'm usually at high level so maybe that's why I didn't find this hard. What I found hard in this game is getting the secret mission with Yeager. Kratos is also hard, and the 3rd Duke is insanely hard.

Well, that boss is obviously the time to use all those items you got beforehand (without buying or grinding, just finding in chests and the occasional drop during battles). It's like when you first enter the World of Ruin in FF6, you NEED items!

Okay, first, I know I'm late to the party, but I need someone to explain this to me and I think the game will just roll with it for a while. So Blastia is pretty can be compared to Ether in Xenoblade or the Lifestream in Final Fantasy 7 -from what I heard from that game- and can be transformed in solid objects to human use, like the Materias and Symphonia's Exsphere, correct? If so... What's up with Rita and the Pet Blastia thing? I get that it's a living energy, but it's far from a living being and her explanations about it seem just to be just a opinion than enything else. Don't get me wrong, she's funny so far and I'm liking her 'cause of that, but that Blastia problem is bugging me.

Oh yes, the noob killer of this game. Needless to say, it's sad that this FOURTH boss is more difficult than the fifth boss. It was satisfying killing that thing on Hard mode for first playthrough, but damn did it took many tries. Also gave Karol the evil eye look when he said: "It hardly put up a fight!"

If you wanna play another Japanese (I think, I have no clue where it was made) RPG, Eternal Sonata would be an awesome choice. It's music based, but there are a lot of elements between that and ToV that are similar. It's npt very well known, so there aren't like any good LPs of it here. It would be awesome if you decided to at least try it :)

This boss has cost me a controller. Seriously, whoever balanced this and then didn't listen to game testers was a sadist. Most broken boss nearly ever. The game controls and AI are nowhere near good enough to justify the difficulty spike. If this was a "go grind" boss, then FUCK the developer for not understanding balance.

I'm not liking Rita so far. Yes, Karol is annoying, but she's been nothing but a whiny bully. I haven't played the game, but I've played plenty of the Tales games, and am often amazed at how good they are at character development. I wonder if Rita will actually have some sort of redeeming quality to her as she develops.
