This is so sad! I never had any children of my own and just turned 58. I wish I could help out young kids living on the streets like him! I have a 3 br house and live in it alone. Right now I'm just getting over losing my mom 2 weeks ago who had Dementia for the past 9-10 years and sadly wasn't able to walk for at least 6+ years I did what I could for mom and we kept her in her own home till the end. Perhaps I'll pick up the pieces now and date or help others in need. Prayers for this young man and all other children who are misguided or make bad choices and are living a life that they shouldn't be living! I hope he believes in HIMSELF. I'm a healthcare worker and make rounds to Detox daily and seem to vibe with everyone. My advice to the patients there is find a real friend whom you can talk to and trust and above all BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! Once we have that confidence the human mind has endless possibilities as to what we're capable of achieving ! I pray some sicko pervert does not get hold of this kid as there are so many that prey on young kids esp someone as meek as this kid is. He looks like he weighs 115lb soaking wet! Stay safe kid and stay STRONG!!!! You got this stay clean, get help and take some apprenticeship program or go to trade school. Prayers and blessings for you here!!!!! You will have that loving wife and nice children one day, I just know you will!!!

He has been functional enough to graduate/get a GED. Most of the foster kids I've had never graduated and won't ever get a GED. This guy has so much going for him and is throwing it all away. I'm used to seeing young people doing that but he had so much to start with.

How can we help this guy? I live in San Diego Cali and could offer him a job in the health field entry level.

I understand this young man, having been there in the grips of addiction for many, many years and somehow surviving to celebrate 20 years clean in two months. Dallin, read all these comments that people are leaving here for you. They see you. I see you. You can recover and live the dream you want. Take that 1st step. I did 20 years ago, and man, what a wild ride it's been for me.
