Well do you gotta realize you asking emotionally triggering questions to people that have no coping mechanisms besides drug use. You can’t get to angry with them. You were kinda mean to that lady. Yeah she’s a pain in the ass but what did you expect. No need to further demean her. I usually dislike homeless people but you go out of your way to speak with them.

Thank you for this comment! I wish people would see things this way more often. I’ve worked with mentally disabled individuals (and I mean all kinds.) I once acted like this interviewer because I was being unprofessional and emotionally involved (anger, impatience, pride, ego.) We have many blind spots when it comes to understanding and having tolerance, even for “stable” individuals, let alone struggling ones.

It seems like there were some concerns regarding the second interview. Assuring that all candidates feel comfortable and respected throughout the process is essential. In the future, it might be helpful to approach interviews with a more collaborative and supportive mindset rather than challenging or badgering candidates. Most - almost all - of the subjects are accomodating, by being able to get into the flow of the conversation. It's like siphoning liquid; hard to get started but once it flows, it goes. Most are flattered that someone would take the time to hear their story. Unfortunately these two parties are stretched extremely thin to begin with, having physical ailments or mental trauma that resists easy conversation. The more they opened up, the more they saw what was in themselves and the more unsettled they became. You did your best, but it might be good to go easy on the questions that lead to some of the memories. It can trigger, more typically in a female, a blaming and lashing out because of the trauma brought back up through the questions.

It’s going to be different out there in Phoenix this year! I was a psych/detox nurse since 2018, spent several years working at all 3 counties CBI locations. I needed a mental health break, so I took the past year off and substitute taught school. I’m headed back to my passion this month and this time I’ll be an ACT team nurse out in the field! Is it my imagination or have so so many people died in this drug pandemic-weapons of mass destruction that have been allowed to FLOOD our AZ border-because I’m not seeing as many homeless and psychotic people on the streets as I had from 2020- through probably a few months ago. I know we had approval for more housing but i think as usual it’s dragging out (and $ disappears). I keep thinking I’ll see the homelessness and addiction when I’m out with the ACT team in Phoenix in different areas than previously. I’m so happy to get to work to make a difference again! I care deeply for my patients out there!

Im in Tucson & the homelessness is outrageous.. the amount of people who just fill in all the empty space (parking lots busstops gas stations parks & alleys) its crazy! Sad to think of how many people there are who need help & dont even know the resources avalible to them.. IMO the heat down here in Az makes things worse. I am a year & 6 months sober from blues, and it took me going to detox.. yes blues are everywhere, triggers everywhere i look, but once i went and got on subs, then weaned self off at the 11 month mark, its been easy to stay sober & realizing the amount of money ive saved... well over 10gs.. I spent up to $40 a day everyday for almost 3 years.. not even mentioning the gas it took to get there. i am so grateful to be clean off them & to be able to be awake to live my life, and to be willing to live it instead of just surviving everyday, on cruise control thru it all. without people like you in your field, it would be that much more difficult to get the help we need. Thank you for being in a field you are passionate about, I myself am too, & daydream of a life where i work in the substance abuse arena & make a difference in people's lives. youre awesome

@@SuheilyElizabeth-u1i how wonderful to read about your journey! How are you staying in recovery? Each person’s story gives me ideas to share with others. Not everyone chooses to try Sub to get and stay sober. It’s the only drug I recommend to people! Methadone is the devil. It’s awful and harder to detox from than anything. I worked at the Tucson location often from 2020-July 2023, and it was tough. I have no idea how it is now because it’s been a year since I last worked there. Reading your comment means so much to me! I’m proud of you for not only getting and staying sober, but weaning yourself off once you were solid. Stay solid! You can do it, just don’t forget the misery of the addiction. It’s hard, and I know tons of people that started drinking after they got sober from blues. I warn everyone that it’s still addiction! Also when you’re drunk and out somewhere, if you are offered a drug, think of how likely you are to use it. Our inhibitions go down, so we aren’t thinking when we are drunk. I’ve seen it often. Hard to believe this but now blues are even more deadly-as if they could get any deadlier! The newest drugs/chemical drug class that are occasionally found in blues are called Nitazines. Have you heard about it? There’s no reversal drug for it-so narcan is useless. It’s stronger than fentanyl. Look up a video or 2 about it. I’d love to hear what you think. Seriously-if u have time I really would. I noticed last year that narcan wasn’t always working-that’s when I suspected something new was in blues! It’s not in many of them, so it’s very random, and in most cases it’s a death hit. I think it’s planted by the government. When u look up information about it you can see why I think it’s a government agency involved in the release of this chemical compound.

Exactly the reason why I don't give a penny to anyone. I will buy food but, I'm not giving a dime to these people. Makes it hard to help the ones that really need help.

In my experience the same people saying stop helping those allies are the same people saying cut medicade, cut homeless services, defund the FBI, cut tax rates. And that's all you really want, you don't care about helping that girl, you want lower taxes.

Lame analogy. Most of these losers want nothing to do with rehab, sober living, and mental health treatment. They don't like following any rules. And appeasement to aggression from a dictator didn't work out so well in Europe during the 1930's.
