The Taliban held a military parade in Kandahar, Afghanistan's second-largest city and the militants' spiritual heartland, using former Afghan and international forces vehicles and helicopters to inaugurate their new "Islamic Emirate Army". A convoy of military vehicles drove down Kandahar's main road, which links the airport to the city centre, past onlookers while religious music blasted from loudspeakers. The Taliban defence minister recently announced military units would be reorganised and renamed. In Kandahar, the army corps formerly known as "Attal" was renamed on this occasion with the Arabic name "Al Badar".

The weapons were for the Afghanistan army. In practice they were to be trained to continue to fight for their country with these weapons after we left. Turns out a few weeks before our final troops left they either weren't capable or unwilling to and just surrendered this equipment to the taliban.

It must be sad seeing it but when you think out of the box, the US left these weapons behind for the Afghan military not to the Taliban....but it's unfortunate it went wrong....did Americans expect the US to pull out without leaving these weapons? Think out of the box too

That is the problem, we shouldn't have send our youg soldiers to fight and die for a cause that only the Afghans had to fight and die for. It is a good lesson. Never again our governments have to send our soldiers to fareway countries that do not have our culture nor or values. What a waste.

Thats why after 20 yrs,the contract was finish so Americans had to leave and their weapons to the taliban.as you know there were already rumors before that Americans support the taliban.so leaving there war equipment,its not possible that they are really connected to the taliban.so if now they show that they are concerned about Afghanistan,its just part of their propaganda !
