Ben C. Solomon and Adam Desiderio were embedded with elite Afghan forces in Kandahar, Afghanistan as the Taliban closed in. What they saw was an outnumbered military, hospitals being overwhelmed with wounded soldiers and civilians losing hope.

It’s not like they don’t ask them. I’m more concerned about the TIMING of this video’s release when it comes to reprisals. It’s one thing to try and melt back into the civilian world when someone would have to go out of their way to single you out, this is being published when the Taliban are in control and a purge would be most advantageous for them - rather than digging through old footage or caring more about regime survival in the future rather than recompense. That’s how these sorts of things work - on convenience, so this seems very poorly-timed.

I’ll second that, God Bless 🙏🏻 English is not an easy language to learn! The Afghan soldiers that were committed to the fight were sold out & thrown to the wolves by their own president. He fled, with literally bags of cash (so much he had to leave some behind as the helicopter would be overweight…) It was either “go home, we won…” or “fight us, and die.”

Khurasan as mentioned in religious books has been misrepresented and it's realities perverted thanks to British colonialism. Afghanistan is not really Afghanistan.it is Khurasan. The footage you see in this video is evidence of how Khurasan was further ruined and disgraced by the colonial Afghanistan project. Taliban are a Narco Mafia Khawarij force of terrorists that are occupying Afghanistan on behalf of the Pakistani ISI and their allies US UK Israel Saudi Arabia Qatar China etc. The Afghan forces shown here were mostly withdrawn and some of the first to leave Kandahar and then in Kabul straight to US....but the majority of the forces, those in hospitals, many others, they were all abandoned to be slaughtered. It was part of the US- Pakistan- Qatar deal to transfer power from puppet Ghani to puppet Taliban. All of them are alien to Khurasan.

You are watching SF unit's in this video, not the regular ANA troops. People call most of ANA cowards because that's how it is. They didn't even bother destroying their own equipment so that the Taliban don't use it. They just fled... Watch Ben Anderson's video's where you can see the real ANA, not SF which obviously has much higher morale, better training, equipment etc. and see for yourself.

The other day I saw a video of an Afghan soldier who was literally crying telling one of his CO’s that he didn’t wanna give up his rifle and asking why no ones wants to fight against the Taliban and I really felt his pain. The story for the past few weeks has been that the soldiers were cowards and just gave up their weapons but looks more like they were sold out by crooked and pitiful “leadership” very sad.
@Scorch052

It seems complicated. Consider that alot of this video and others you see like the one you mentioned are of the SF members of the ANA. The most well-trained, well-equipped, and devoted. Many ANA troops did not meet those standards.

Let's get it right... Joe Biden, a man who has never a done a day's military service in his life, what stood at a podium surrounded by armed Secret Services agents located inside of one of the most heavily fortified buildings in the world, essentially started the narrative of the ANA being "cowards". He obviously wasn't briefed on the casualty statistics of ANA and ANP personnel over the past twenty years. Senile old goat!

My friend became good friends with a translator and his family, and was in the process of helping to secure a visa for the man and his family to move here, but never made it in time. As of February 2024, he has still not heard from them. A husband, wife, and two wonderful daughters, one wanted to be a doctor and the other wanted to be a scientist, and a son who wanted to join the US Marines as a service to America for helping his family... you and I know both know what probably happened to this family. I am (we are) disturbed and sickened by what we did to that desperate country that day. Meanwhile, sending 150 billion to Ukraine in a war we have no business being involved with. Everyone thinks they know why the ANA didn’t fight. 1) ANA had extremely low morale due to little pay and being poorly equipped 2) ANA was a hollow core from the statistics (3x less soldiers than the reality) due to theft and corruption 3) Afghanistan’s political institutions were weak 4) the Taliban were extremely tactical and smart, they bought local leaders that were alienated by the government 5) trump empowered the Taliban by cutting out the Afghans from deal 6) America abandoned Afghanistan before strong institutions were built - you can’t just invade and expect a poor country with many tribes and ethnic groups to become the next Singapore in a measly 20 years.

Top notch reporting, Vice. Truly riveting to see your reporters go bravely where others flee. If true journalism is in the ICU, then Vice is the ventilator. And this coming from a conservative Afghan war vet... the Afghan situation is difficult for us to watch unfold, as so many of us have spent months/years learning the land & culture, building relationships & rapport, and investing blood sweat & tears into what we were told was in support of a greater mission. @@jimcricket8128 That is just ignorance speaking. Even before the US invaded, Afghanistan was made up of minor factions and the US just empowered the north to take over the south. No surprise other factions united under the Taliban banner, when the US blindly supported the corrupt, US ground troops will attest to the mistreatment and even vice itself covered it 5 years ago. I was a Marine platoon commander in Vietnam 1968-1969. Hard year. Lost too many good Marines killed and wounded. We operated in different types of terrain that included sandy pine forests near the coast, rice paddies, elephant grass, jungle, and the mountains. It was physically and mentally exhausting. It was stinking hot in the dry season and it rained constantly during the monsoon season. I was a company commander in Hawaii 1975-1976. Hawaii didn't have a jungle course in those days, rather it was OJT taking the company on training exercises on both Oahu and the Big Island. I can confirm that the terrain really sucked in both places, especially keeping control of a rifle company. I did nearly freeze to death at the Army's Arctic Warfare Course at Ft Greely, Alaska in 1977 while I was the 1st Marine Brigade G-4 Operations Officer because one of our contingency plans was in the event of another Korean War. The commanding general wanted me to advise him as to how to prepare for that mission in the event we had to deploy to Korea during the winter. So he sent me to the Arctic Warfare Course. I also spent two years in Latin America supporting a host nation's counter-insurgency effort. I wasn't as dangerous as Vietnam, but it was dangerous work. It was a designated combat zone and so I received combat pay and fitness reports. The country also had some serious terrain challenges. Retired after 21 years. Greatest honor in my life was leading Marines, especially in combat.
