'City'!!! 😂😂😂 The 'city' in Skye! LOL! You've never been to Skye, have you? I used to live in Portree. You can walk from one end of the village to the other in about 25 minutes. x

Hey Jason...great review! You have colored me intrigued my friend. I will try and get a tasting of this one before I purchase. The uniqueness you spoke of is what I like to find. Thanks and cheers!

Thank you and I hope you enjoy this when you get to try a sample. I would recommend Master of Malt for samples or even local bars as they should have this on the bars.

Madeira finish sounds Great. That’s what they use on the standard Penderyn release.

Yeah I cant wait to get to some of the Penderyn range at some point soon. If they do release one at Talisker I'm saying we started that shout here first! lol

I'm not usually a peaty-smoke lover,but the Port Ruighe is fantastic whisky. Love it. I love this balance of the smoke and the sweetness. An appropriate hit of smoke is balanced by the effects of the Port casks.

Its a great whisky and something I really enjoyed when tasting it, its a great combination of smoke and port character. Thanks for watching Goran!

Its a fantastic price which I really respect about what they keep the price at.

I love Talisker and I love port finishes, but this one just wasn't quite right for me. I think it is going into a good direction, but I felt that it was clearly too young. On the other hand, I also felt that for whichever reason it had already lost a lot of that distinct Talisker character (the smoke, the chili catch, etc).

Its something they can experiment with and one thing i'd like to see is a Madeira Cask Finished plus I feel it also depends on the type of Port Cask they choose. It's definitely something for them to test out. Which is your favourite Port Finish?
@Everest3146 жыл бұрын
My favourite is probably Ardmore 12 Port Finish ahead only by a wee margin of the Tomatin 14 Port Casks, it really depends on the day which one I would prefer. Both are among my absolute favourite whiskies.

I've just ordered a Tomatin 14 year as I've heard its really nice but haven't got round to trying it yet. My current two are the Balvenie 21 Portwood and the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban. I need to work on the Tomatin range at some point once I have most of them to sit down with.
@Everest3146 жыл бұрын
The price of the Balvenie is somewhat outisde of my comfort zone, but I may eventually get to it (if only a sample). The Quinta Ruban has been on my list for a long time, but it has always been surpassed in priority by other whiskies. One reason for that is my experience with it's siblings: For me the Nectar d'Or was interesting but not that great and the Lasanta good but rather unremarkable. I also recently caught an absolute killer bargain for a Cragganmore DE which is probably the next port finish that I will taste. Maybe the QR is next after that. :D

That sounds great in getting the Craggenmore as I've not seem much of it since it picked up an award 2 years back but its one I'm aiming to cover on the channel at some point as it has some great flavours.
