I have to disagree with you on this review. I watched the movie only afte watching this review. There is no black and white. Everyone is grey somewhere in between. The director has tried his best to show this in everyone’s character. You just can’t point at someone in this movie and tell that person is 100% good or 100% bad - just like any human in real life. I don’t know if you noticed this - all 3 cops were shown as Dalits. Maniyan had Ambedkar’s picture at home. During the rope competition, they make fun of the second cop saying you were in this side until last year. The lady cop was dead guy’s relative. Any caste group,be it Andai, paapan or oppressed, when in a group exhibit some level of jingoism. Especially when an election is around the corner, the local majority group of people get an upper hand. Politicians act nice to them until election takes place. Only people with money and power win - even cops cannot win is the bottom line. I’m afraid you are criticizing this movie unfairly.
