“What can ignite spiritual momentum? We have seen examples of both positive and negative momentum. We know followers of Jesus Christ who became converted and grew in their faith. But we also know of once-committed believers who fell away. Momentum can swing either way” (Russell M. Nelson, “The
Power of Spiritual Momentum,” Liahona, May 2022, 97).

I love, love, love the idea of the sacrament being Jesus Christ’s funeral and his body laying under the cloth where the bread and water are. Thank you for that visualization and thought. I’m looking forward to running to church this Sunday and being mindful of the things you have taught us this week about the sacrament. I love and appreciate you both so much!!! ❤️❤️

Thank you for your beautiful insights, especially for the Sacrament being like we are at Jesus' funeral. With regard to increasing spiritual momentum, I think Heavenly Afther knew I was feeling unenthusiastic about Church, going through the motions, it feeling mundane and samey each week, even though I contribute (I think it's because there are so many complexities other members are going through and that can affect me). So He knew I needed a change of scenery and called me back to teach the Sunbeams earlier this year, Sunday mornings are still a little hard and I feel down and tired, but I can always say after teaching and being with those little ones, they boost my momentum, as I help theirs to grow 😊.

John I love the vision u painted as the chapel as the tomb…such a way to be reverent…and another way I think of the Sacrament Table is as a table of grace. Jesus giving me grace for all of the sins I am repenting of. David Butler has a quote that he describes the “Table of Grace” and Jesus’ invitation to come to the Table. They both make me want to run and see….thank you both for this wonderful lesson this week.

I was there at Women's Conference and because I watch this, I felt like we were just friends sharing our faith. I loved hearing more about your faith through the experiences in your life! There is purpose in our suffering! Loved the discussion of the sacrament. It really added to my perspective of the chapel. Thanks for doing this! It's the first CFM podcast I participate in each week. You are both wonderful! ❤

This discussion today is so powerful and has given me an answer to my own thoughts wandering or my attention being drawn to an upset little one. I have wanted better of and for myself. This, John is my answer, so deep gratitude to you. And thank you, Ganel- Lynn for grasping the reality so quickly that I knew my feelings are also true. This IS my answer. 🙏

Great to hear a deeper view on the Lord's Supper. For years I have been looking for people who speak about the Lord in the chapel instead of the everyday things, how exciting this can be. Thank you Greatings from Belgium

Another wonderful video thankyou. I never thought of the going thru the veil as touching or putting my hand into Jesus Christs side...... or after the veil being rent that being a symbol or signal that EVERY worthy person being able to participate in temple ordinances IF they chose to.

I always think of this from Elder Holland: "We make an apostolic plea for the reduction of clamor in the sanctuary of our buildings. We love to visit with each other, and we should-it is one of the joys of church attendance-but it ought not be pursued so vocally in space specifically dedicated for worship. I fear that visitors not of our faith are shocked by what can sometimes be noisy irreverence in a setting that is supposed to be characterized by prayer, testimony, revelation, and peace. Perhaps heaven is a little shocked as well. It will add to the spirit of our sacrament meetings if the presiding officers are on the stand well before the meeting is to begin, listening to the prelude music and reverently setting the example the rest of us ought to follow. If there is chatter on the stand, we shouldn’t be surprised at chatter in the congregation. We congratulate those bishoprics who are eliminating announcements that detract from the spirit of our worship. I, for one, cannot imagine a priest such as Zacharias-there in the ancient temple of the Lord, about to participate in the one and only priestly privilege that would come to him in his entire lifetime-I just cannot picture him pausing before the altar to remind us that the pinewood derby is just six weeks away and registration will soon be due." (Behold, the Lamb of God). I think we are woefully irreverent during the prelude in our sacrament meetings, as we enter that sacred space. Its my pet peeve.
