All the theories recently have really been making me excited to see how Caleb could be integrated into the story. I know a lot of people have been waiting almost a year for him to come back, so I hope he will ultimately be a love interest for their sakes. I could really go either way, but tbh I felt like he was kind of down bad for the MC very early on and so, if we have a situation where he kind of has split allegiances or is serving a villainous purpose but trying to protect the MC at the same time, I'm sure that will be nice and angsty.

I'm up with the idea that he first has to be more involved in the story before making him a LI. I want them to reintroduce him now as a very important antagonist but also introduce a new LI, probably someone who is also hunting him down for a different reason. Then somewhere down the line in the main story when this huge miscommunication between them both got resolved, only then, they can announce that Caleb will move up into a loving status. Like we're seeing an actual progress of hatred being resolved. Coz if this turns out that the explosion was a deliberate act, MC will resent him far worse than how she first resented Sylus. I want this Caleb redemption arc to be a long way route. We did saw it in Sylus but its way too fast, they immediately got acquainted. I am excited to see Caleb's part in this universe but I'm not that excited yet to him being an LI if this theory turned out to be true. MC's not gonna take this matter lightly.

Wooooo the set up you have is SUPER INTERESTING I would absolutely watch it XD I do agree that whether Caleb couldn't or didn't want to save Grandma, MC would resent him either way so the path to a relationship between the two would have to be a long and albeit complicated one. I think for Sylus it's because he never caused the explosion to begin with. Her struggle is mostly from them being from opposite worlds, the "criminal" syndicate and MC as someone who upholds law. So I can understand the pacing - and then there's that soul bond they have 😂 It would be nice to see Caleb struggling to gain MCs approval. I am a sucker for groveling male leads. 😌

Wow. Thanks for the indepth analyse into Caleb. I've never seen the initial version LADS storyline. It does seem that Caleb's return is pretty solid. Seeing some of the comments in the videos, probably "enemies to lovers" storyline would seemed too repetitive. Let it just be solely for Sylus (please dont take it away from him, love him too much). Haha. I do hope that Caleb's return will be his protectiveness over MC therefore all the sneaky business he's doing to help MC (i mean since all the current LIs have so many things hiding from MC). Probably he will be the only LI that will be transparent to MC once he's back in the game?? I would love Caleb to return as LI. Omg. When i first saw Caleb and knew that he is not her actual brother, i was like "how is this guy so good looking but not one of our LI!!". (I do read loads of manga and get accustomed to 非血缘关系!) Haha. I still do think calling him 哥哥 does sound weird but i do believe 青梅竹马 will fit their condition. And since they have always been comfortable with each other since young, he does have advantage over MC's heart and probably don't need cooloff time to introduce him into the story line. 😉 I hope he really becomes one of the LI!!! And thanks again for the delve into Caleb's video! I hope more of such videos from you in future (no pressure please). It's just so enjoyable to talk more about the storyline.

I totally get the non blood related trope, and I guess most of us are able to only take it as fiction and not have it affect our perception of real life. I think if she started calling him 以晝哥 or just 以晝哥哥 it would be more comfortable and less like actual siblings but yeah, I'm not as affected. This game is totally banking on the forbidden romance, since MC describes him as "與我沒有血緣關係的哥哥" instead of "青梅竹马". Infold TOTALLY wants him to be the "forbidden" route. I'm interested to see how they will spin the story though since if he's the last LI then that means they've saved him up for last for good reason. Also probably because he brings in ANOTHER key component to the main story and I am DYING to know what it is. Yeah, I believe for a long time that Caleb works for the Ever group and is most likely the guy Rafayel met at chapter 8. And that Sylus/Onychinus join forces with the Hunter's Association to fight Ever sooner or later

I always have a stinking suspicion that the guy Rafayel was talking to at the end of Chapter 8 is Caleb. And I feel that Sylus somehow knows and hinted to MC about family being the one who tried to kill MC has to do with that guy who worked for him at N109 zone. That elder guy who somehow knows MC's Grandma? Very interesting theories Scarlet, I hope you do more of these videos, I am interested to know what you have in your head!

Oooo from the WU, I think he is Phillip (The chapter with the twins). But yeah, I also sometimes wonder if Sylus is just talking about Josephine (Grandma) who afterall, DID watch her die countless times. It's possible Sylus doesn't like her because of that. But yeah, I do think he is referring to Caleb, but if Caleb is to be the next LI then its contradicting. SO MANY IDEAS!!!

So Zayne and Sylus both know Caleb but Sylus I am guessing knows all about the bad deeds of the Ever Group while Zayne knows more about those illegal experiments and stuff. Sylus did say that "those closest to you might be the ones who actually want to k*ll you the most", so, it is possible that Caleb could be the villain but as the story progresses, we might find out that he is not actually the main villain but more of a pawn in a bigger game... I am thinking how even if it's not Caleb, it could be a new character and they might surprise us with the fifth LI for their Anniversary along with an event just like how they did with Sylus.

I like how all the male leads are aware of each other and I like thinking they have opposite pairs. Xavier Vs Sylus, Zayne Vs Raf, then there's Caleb. It's why I thought another character apart from Caleb COULD be possible. I'm ALLL for surprises, but seeing as how there is a huge fanbase who only waits for Gege's return, I'm worried about the backlash as well. We need to remember the DEVs would not and really do not have to cater to all our wants. They had a vision for the game, and we are there to play it if we like it.

personally, i don't think he's going to be "enemies to lovers" because then that'd just be repeating sylus' tropes and caleb is coming into the game right after sylus so i think they're going to give him a different trope unique to him because even though all the LIs share similarities, they all have a specific main romantic trope that you can pinpoint. they really reinforced the whole "enemies to lovers" thing with sylusmc in his limited myth with MC being sylus' destined nemesis and sylus being fated to kill his lover due to the dragon's curse so to me caleb and MC being enemies to lovers as well just feels repetitive at this point (it also depends on the direction they'll take with his story though). i'm open to anything though, i just don't see them taking that direction personally. i think for caleb, maybe he could be a sort of second chance romance (if he turns out he betrayed MC for a greater goal)? i also think it's possible for caleb to be a sort of double agent but not in the sense where he's straight up the villain/antagonist of the story; more like he has good intentions but is still hiding secrets from MC in order to protect her (which falls in line with pretty much all the LIs). with the way the story is going, i don't think we will romance the "true villain" of the story. so far we have very few clues in the main story so it's kind of hard to know which direction they'll take with caleb, it could go a lot of different ways. with sylus it was easier to theorize his romantic tropes and his role because prior to his release the whole story was leading up for MC to go to the N109 and meet him and we knew he was the leader of onychinus; however, with caleb so far there's nothing in the story leading up for us to see him again or to know for sure what will happen so they probably want to do a "plot twist" with his reveal even though we all know he's coming back one way or another haha. on your last point... i do think it's possible that we do see caleb again in the story before he gets introduced as a love interest. i've never thought of that but now that you brought it up, i'm starting to think it's possible. a lot of people are thinking that he's going to be released soon as a love interest but considering the fact that nothing in the story so far is leading up for us to meet caleb again i think it's possible that they start giving us clues about caleb and maybe introduce him again in the story before he becomes a LI. however, i still think he will be the next LI (and most likely last LI) bc when asked about "future LIs" the devs only mentioned sylus and caleb and at this point i feel like it'd be too late to introduce a brand new LI. considering the whole "shaw incident" in MLQC, i don't think they will introduce a brand new LI without announcing it in advance like they did for sylus and caleb. all that being said, they could also simply release him as a LI without any build up because since he was introduced in the story early on and he has a close connection to MC, i don't think people will be that upset that he's being introduced "late". sorry for the long yap session haha also, i just want to say that you're one of my favorite LaDS creators and i hope your channel grows even more in the future! i love hearing about your theories and watching your reactions to LaDS content, keep doing what you do :)

That's true! I think we all anticipated the whole enemies to lovers with Sylus but it felt a bit easy. Sylus immediately proved he was not behind the explosion and MC knew he wasn't lying. The struggle mostly came from her identity as a hunter and Sylus' identity as the leader of Onychinus. (Which is not different from his myth, his identity as a dragon and her identity as a groomed weapon to strike him down.) I DO like the idea of a second chance romance. If Caleb was indeed behind the explosion or not, if he was capable of saving himself it'll be hard for MC to come to terms with him either failing or choosing not to save Grandma. And yeah Caleb coming from EVER is still a theory, its not as clear as us knowing Sylus is the leader of Onychinus. If he does come back, it's also possible his introduction is also the way the story introduces the Deepspace Aviation Administration's own goals and motivations into the plot. Another key player in the game. We don't know but it's exciting to find out XD I like that the story is still growing and can't wait to see what they have in store. I do like to think the Devs are still testing the waters with Caleb. As you said, fans ARE fond of Caleb already so it might push them to put Caleb out there as an LI straight away. But yeah, I'm mostly saying it to myself XD Because if he is NOT immediately out as an LI, I'm sure alot of fans who waited for him would be upset. I doubt the DEVs WANT people to reserve their resources for future LI's since they would WANT you to spend so "only focusing" on one LI to go through the game and maximize the amount of diamonds you can get in a week by completing hunter tournaments would NOT be easy (but proven to still be possible) until super late into the game. So I'm reminding myself to avoid being disappointed XD Never apologize for the "long yaps" I enjoy reading them!! @@ScarletMother true but then again they can't really drag out the enemies part bc the structure of the game doesn't really allow it. they have to give all the LIs more or less the same amount of content and even if when they are focusing on one specific LI, they have to be fair to the others. if they had for example given sylus more story chapters, it would've allowed them to take a more "slow burn" approach to the enemies part and they could drag out the misunderstandings but since they gave the each LI 2 chapters dedicated to them in the main story, they had to do the same with sylus' "long awaited revelry" hence why the ending of his story felt kind of rushed, they tried to resolve and wrap up a lot of plot points in two chapters when in my opinion, should've been a little longer but i get that they couldn't really do that. with caleb however, it's possible that instead of his story wrapping up something, it'd be the "introduction" of new mysteries and plot points in the main story but who knows, we only have speculations so far haha. hopefully we'll get more information soon.

I have a feeling that Onychinus as a organisation wasn't and isn't particularly fond of Ever as a whole. Meanwhile in one of the calls with Sylus he does end up coming to the Hunter's Association Office and it seems like they're in a sort of business terms where Sylus might be their undercover. You know how govt officials keep in touch with Mafia because of how useful they are. Something like that. Because otherwise, it makes no sense that he ends up showing up in the office and NOT ONE PERSON IS AWARE WHO HE IS except the higher ups. It is also interesting how he insinuates the whole "family" thing in which case, both Caleb and Grandma can be held accountable. Granny cuz she was one of the researchers and Caleb because he is tied to Ever. If I have to say, I would say Xavier, Sylus and Rafayel are in cahoots given how both Xav and Raf believed that MC would be safer in N109 zone aka in some way, they knew that Sylus would keep her under his protection. But yeah, I am curious to see how the story unfolds here on out. Whether Caleb is the true villain or whether we will get something else.

What I can't figure out is, Why Caleb, and why later introduce him as a potential love interest? (If that actually comes to pass that is) What I mean by that is, when you compare him to the other guys, at least from my perspective, he doesn't even rank a vanilla rating.... If one had to choose between Sylus and Caleb, for instance, it's most likely gonna be Sylus that gets picked, and it'd be the same situation with the other guys.... I, at least, can't see myself ever picking Caleb over the other guys.. With that said; if they had taken a different approach, like introduce him as a love interest from the get go, and even allowed a few memories before the explosion happened, that could've made a bigger impact, because people would've been more invested in Caleb as a character. Example; let's say that in one of the memories, Caleb confessed his feelings to mc, but he doesn't want to pressure her, so he gives her space and time to consider things... And then the explosion happens... Instead, he Might be introduced as a love interest After hotter guys have taken the stage?... Excuse me for having doubts that Caleb could be a viable option... Ever. (ha, see what I did there?) But maybe I'm wrong, and maybe they'll do something interesting.... Maybe they'll take the phantom of the opera approach, where he's been disfigured, but somehow becomes alluring...

With all the clues of putting cores into humans and human conciousness into wanderers it does lead up to alot of potential. I think Caleb was super sweet and caring, plus alot of people found him hot so I can see why they would make him an LI.

I think Western audiences might understand the relationship better if they thought of Caleb as the foster brother, rather than the adoptive brother. They are roughly the same but I don't think the term foster brother has the same negative connotations.

as an adopted person, his potential as a love interest is completely unappealing to me because a sibling is a sibling no matter the blood relation and i personally took that as what they were setting him up as with grandma and all. but i find the chance of him coming back as a villain really interesting especially with all we know of his personality. i'm not a fan of fake-out deaths but a resurrection or copy of some kind would hit the angst if we saw him working completely against us.

Very valid! I'm on the same mindset but I think I'm just desensitized to these tropes since I play alot of otome games, even if I never really go for that route. It's alot easier for me to detatch and just take it in as fiction. I'm actually seeing alot of cyborg Caleb fanart surfacing and the idea that he comes back with his memory scrambled is intriguing but frankly for me, not that appealing ( we have enough of that with MC T.T ). A copy sounds interesting! Maybe a cyborg programmed to be like him and then slowly regains the originals memory? That would be interesting!

I feel like with how this game has been drilling 'Ever big bad', Caleb might be coming back seemingly kinda chill with Ever and we know something is off. The idea of him being some copy of someone we're so familiar with and being on the opposing side, it's like 'you're not the person i knew' in more ways than one. I also don't want the memory scramble trope lolol,, maybe he has all the memories but lacks the human connection/emotion? Maybe he has moments of humanity upon seeing things like the necklace and whatnot. Who knows but I'm really curious how they're gonna reintroduce him. Also as you pointed out, his weird hesitation in that cutscene. Like is he guilty of being connected to a dangerous organization, willingly or not? Are they holding MC over his head or does he think he's on the right side? I'm so curious lmao

The whole no blood relation "siblings" becoming lovers thing is a common occurrence in Anime, Manga or occasionally even drama things in East Asian fiction imo. Some people are fans of it but I'm Asian but its not quite my thing. I have no issues with it though, just not my interest 😅 so I had no interest in Caleb when playing or even after the chapter 4 boomz. So I have no feelings about him coming back as an LI but... having said that I agree with what you said about the hidden route in otome game things. And the drama he would bring if he came back as a baddie or working with the baddies at least. That is such delicious conflict to move the story along. An antagonist/s is needed for sure and what better drama than the ultimate betrayal? I just wonder if in that scenario they would give him any redeeming factors (e.g. some reason why he had to work with the baddies or be the baddie or he's just doing it for personal gain, no apologies but his feelings for MC are real). Man if they do it I hope they just do the latter. Just go for it, don't be half-hearted hahah. Then it would fit into the lore and depression trope since you love the very person who's ruining your life and loved ones. How spicy is that? And I totally imagine Xavier and Sylus going batshit crazy and wanting to totally tear Caleb to shreds for this hahahahah. Anyway excited for Caleb the villain to come stir some drama 😈😈

Ohhhh the DELICIOUS drama that would ensue if THIS was indeed the route the story decides to take. So far the romance between all the LI's are indeed...i guess lovey dovey? There is sadness yes, and depression, yes. But I want CONFLICT!! I want to see MC angry and screaming LOL Call me toxic but allow me this indulgence since I would never want this in real life XD ahahahaha The thing about the sibling trope, yes, I'm from Hong Kong so I absolutely get it but I am definitely not for it. I mean, the forbidden-ness is there and thats DELICIOUS but tipping around the illusion they could be related sorta ruins it for me XD I'm still very interested in his character though! Hey! Your video was super informative! I didn’t know much about the beta version of the game so it was really interesting seeing the differences from our current storyline (thank you for translating the nuances. Also, I love how we meet Rafayel in both versions btw😂) This is my opinion, but I would love a real enemies to lovers with Caleb because with Sylus, I always feel like the enemies to lovers happened way too fast so it would be interesting if they did something different with Caleb’s character (something that takes time and give us more angst since they have known each other for so long. It could make a compelling story) It would be interesting seeing MC dealing with feelings of betrayal and mixed feelings about him being alive and possibly letting grandma die. I feel like it would still be different from Sylus and mc’s relationship and dynamic, It would all depend on the execution. But I’m also all in, if he just becomes an important antagonist instead of a new LI, but I do think it is very unlikely since we still have texts messages from him in our phone. Currently, that only happens when said character is an LI. It would also be kind of funny if they were to release Caleb as a major antagonist and a random LI from Caleb’s company were the one to become the new LI (I feel like people will riot… so maybe not THAT funny… but it would still will be VERY unexpected)

Yessss, you can look at the other comments I've made and I also think Sylus wasn't the real enemies to lovers trope. I think Sylus is more of the bad boy trope (he's a gentle giant to MC). I would feel SO BAD for MC but I would loooooooooooooove the angst and turmoil that the story brings if Caleb has indeed betrayed her :p If there was a new LI that we've never heard about would indeed be funny XD But yeah I understand there are players that probably only play the game for him to return one day so it'll be kinda sad for them. @ I don’t remember when I went from “omg this jerk” to “omg I love this man and his attitude” but yeah Rafayel and his attitude… I’m glad to know the devs knew the gem they have and didn’t change him that much lol and also yeah I agree, Sylus now feels more like the bad boy trope. He only felt like a real enemy at very very beginning of his chapter. Also, same I’m playing in order to enjoy the storyline so whatever happens, happens. Even if I have some preferences, I just want to enjoy the story so I keep my mind opened to all possibilities the story can move forward.

I heard Caleb could be enemies to lovers troupe indulged LI as a theory before. I am not really a fan of him coming back due to I REALLY dislike fake out deaths. But that said it could be executed well however it dosen't I like it more. One of the reason is because it rob the audiens of the feelings they mat have had during the character death. The earing section I have seen through FB. A kind person share many month ago in the offical group. But that one wasn't translated at all.

I'm curious to know how they will carry out his route as a love interest if they don't do the enemies to lovers trope. It they do the amnesia/memory loss thing thing I'd be a bit disappointed but then again maybe they could spin it into something interesting. I'm eager to find out!

I agree with you about the Ever group using Caleb to get to MC! Now maybe grandma is not dead either! I do believe Caleb will be the next love interest and the bad guy against Sylus! Not only boy next door troupe, but villian to hero (heroine) troupe????? Caleb and Sylus against each other as the other guys already pretty much are fleshed out in their own troupes with MC???? 1st question would be, does beta version is still considered as valid or it's just considered as draft that has been discarded or edited for the better version? tbh, early day i played lads, i actually very interested in caleb until~ he went kababoom~😂😅 i did went hiatus about a month because of that lol. i was willing and i knew i had to wait for gege but got a bit disinterested after that chapter ahaha. 😂 i was planning to comeback some time later after any new li available but rafayel just keep popping up in my tiktok fyp, i came back earlier that expected 😂 hmm~ personally i prefered the oppa-gege troupe since we've already has enemy-to-lover troupe with sylus... i love the protective and gentle vibe caleb has. i think it would be redundant with sylus if caleb too has the villain-to-lover dynamic. if not with caleb, then with who else, can we experience the big brother(not siblings) troupe? btw, it is wise/better to use childhood friend to describe him in english since english big brother literally mean the sibling one. not like most asian as far as i'm concern, where gege (CN)/oppa(KR)/abang(MY/IN) could either mean big brother or beloved or guy friend who is closer with us and older than us. the argument of Caleb as LI-potential is disgusting incest is irrelevant and doesnt bother to consider the culture language-wise of origin of the game... sometimes, i think the one who hate caleb as li is kinda fake and hypocrite... oppa can, but gege cannot?😅 sorry if i come out too strong-headed... hmm~ when sylus said, maybe the one who want to kill mc the most, is the one she considered as family~ one that pop out in my mind... he might refer and hinting to grandma actually, not caleb. considering she did has history of repeatedly killing mc when she's a kid for the experiments... and yeah~ i do think caleb is one of the experiment like mc as well. i'm more leaning on caleb as double agent that keep in check on ever and the deepspace tunnel... to ensure her safety(?) so, probably it's either caleb is planning the explosion with grandma as distraction, and that's why she doesnt include caleb in the letter/will (she entrusted mc to zayne instead) because she knew of caleb's absence later on. or~ caleb does want to revenge on grandma and leading mc away to safety (zayne) since he will be gone with his personal 'mission'. i think of the 1st option since grandma already took care both of them since children, and grandma seems to trust in caleb's capabilities or judgements... this is just my personal thoughts tho..😅 tbh, i can't really see him as a villain... even in beta, i see it as more like him doing his job behind the scene to keep mc safe? it seems like the brooch left to mc is more like leading her to sylus, which actually safer to be with, while he do some 'cleaning job' hidden maybe? and his earring probably his effort to tell or giving hint to mc that he's still around and watching over her... 😅 just my piece of thought. well~ i do hope caleb will be announce as li (but not putting much of high expectation or hope just yet too). still waiting for the announcement first~ it does seems he already has many girlies coming out now that the rumours about him coming back soon~ 🤭 as for his haters, well~ they're just like the same bunch who hates on rafayel or zayne or xavier or sylus. they hate just for the sake of hating and to uplift their fav (which is childish to do this way)... the difference is caleb girlies still cant properly defend him yet because we dunno much about him yet too. the hype for him looks positive and promising tho~🥰 *i hope infold would hire and pick staffs or mods that is not bias or at least respectful towards all LIs. everyone has their own preferences... it will be very sad and hurtful if our preferences is belittled and make fun of or ridiculed, you know... although, it's just a 3d men~ when this happened, it'll feel like we being attacked or questioned personally since it is one part of ourself still... ^^ *it feel like i have more to say... but it doesnt want to come out now...😅😂

It's also possible that the BETA version was only made for players to test it out, but since in the devs notice they mentioned "did players who played the CBT story find any hints about Caleb" sorta thing, I think it's safe to say the BETA version does hold some validity. The Sylus thing, I DID think that and for that exact reason! I just think that if in the BETA she left a letter for MC knowing about the explosion, and in the current storyline , she entrusted a tablet to ZAYNE instead of Caleb, I think Grandma knew she was being targeted and knew Caleb would never hurt MC. I do think Sylus knows this - but yes, it is also possible he would not like Grandma. It's okay if you can't see him as a villain! This is just my opinion after all XD I personally would love him as a villain, or even the big brother trope that is obsessed with her (the usual big brother trope is sorta mixed in with some yandere vibes sometimes, and if Caleb is like that then...PHEW). So far, I feel like Sylus isn't really an enemies to lovers since he already told her he didn't cause the explosion since the beginning and that MC was mostly torn because of their identities from different worlds; him in a criminal world and her in a upholding justice world. This Sylus is more the bad boy trope if anything XD For me at least! As for the people who bully others, I do think paying attention to them is a waste of time. What sucks is if a space is invaded and making the experience for fans unwelcoming and that really sucks. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Honestly, the people who hate on Caleb do it just because they want to. There's no point in taking any of their words seriously since they do things without rhyme or reason anyway. I DO hope the mods get their act together and that you can safely gush over Caleb with other Caleb girlies T.T

I think more of double agent - FMC will think he is a villain but he will be doing it to protect her. So far every LI respects and does eveything for FMC, why Caleb would be any different? He won't be a red flag people want him to be, another green flag is coming imo.

Mmm I only know that the Chinese word for apple has the same character as "peace" in it. Some of the commissioned work from the DEVs have the artist draw a white snake with the apple. Two things come to mind...either the White Snake chinese folklore or the White Snake of temptation for knowledge. Not sure which direction they would go.

As a person that used to watch a good amt. Of anime and Japanese movies, They usually scream "TOTALLY NOT RELATED BY BLOOD" for the masses to be more comfortable with lol 😅 While i didn't care too much about it, I personally didn't want him to come back atleast not as a love interest cuz it just feels kinda corny, like their getting rid of the sadness just to make it happy. Maybe I'm just a sadist but I think a really good movie comes with a good mix of happy and sad emotions and it feels like they're bringing him back just so that ppl can be appeased (of course they could've had that plan all along) but just my personal feelings. I agree and also thought that he would come back as a villain. Perhaps as an official 2nd male lead in the story, who we may have to turn down in choosing the others. For me, I would prefer it that way, however, I see due to popular demand , them making him into an official love interest anyway

As a story though that would be so interesting!
