Players that saw the bosses like "Whoa, I DEFINITELY gotta check this out." 3. Diablo players that became so disappointed with Blizzard, after seeing PoE2 gameplay and the mechanics and they're like "FINALLY! An isometric arpg I can invest my time in that won't disappoint." 4. Soulslike players that saw the telegraphed attacks and heard the game devs mention soulslike mechanics and were like "Say whaaaaaaaaa? SOLD!" 5. EVERY streamer that's into ARPGs are talking about it. Chris did a talk at GDC and he talked about asset reuse. One of the things is the don't have a day night cycle so they can use the same assets in totally different lighting conditions and that hides it really well. The other thing is that their modeling system allows them to throw on seemingly random textures onto the rig and it creates unique looking monsters. He showed an example of using the art from one of the MTX portals on some rigs for monsters and it created very different looking creatures. Combine that with lighting, sound, stats, attack pattern changes and you can get very different looking and feeling creatures from existing assets.
@1_underthesunАй бұрын
Personally, I don't think they need a day/night cycle when the game seems to be perfectly split between being outdoors during the day and being in tunnels, caverns, etc, which effectively acts as night.

I'm one of those guys that just couldn't get into POE1, despite being a mega fan of Diablo 1 and Diablo II (I'm pretty sure I have close to a thousand hours in Diablo II) A big reason for me on why I couldn't get into POE1 was mostly the lore, speed of gameplay and the needless complexity of simplistic systems (like having multiple forms of currency that also double as upgrade materials) It's not that I hated POE1, it was just not the game that I was looking for at the time. Got to love Asmon. Great guy, happy to see him on here. Also thank you Tri for the lore vids. Now I at least have some understanding of POE world and what is actually happening.

What Asmon said with abilities in PoE comboing with each other, you look at them and you immediately wanna log in and try them out. It gets me so hyped everytime they announce something.
