The highline idea can work great if you have fast RB and LB that can catch up with the opponent wingers if there's a fast counter attack. However Kounde is too slow and while Balde is faster, but he has positioning issues. I trust Flick 100%, but I honestly don't see how his idea would work against speedsters like Mbappe, Vinicius or Rodrygo. We have to think at something else. Not sure the idea to outscore Real would work.

The injuries keep coming in! When we were just about to begin to enjoy Marc Bernal long term injury hits him. Now it's Andre Terstegen, even though he committed errors against Monaco he's still the best in la liga. In this game against Villarreal he had fantastic saves. Raphina has certainly come to the party big time. When the first stories came out about the interest in Dani Olmo, I suggested that the technical team should seriously consider converting Raphina and Torres instead of pursuing Olmo. It is good to see Raphina thriving in his new role. Torres can do it as well with careful training, guidance and development. Unfortunately it looks like he's not a favourite of Hansi Flick. So far so good in la liga, it is the CL that we need to do good at.

Even when Xavi limited his game time and pulled him from his Hattricks and played Ferran instead of him. He was performing, both with numbers and work rate. I think we should bring back Bravo and sign the lmLas Palmas keeper on a free contract in January. So he can join us in the summer. That would be a tidy piece of business. Yamal's cross was superb, sadden by Mats injury, and he was having a good game. TBH as well Kounde is possibly one of the best defensive RB in the world. In terms of assist and numbers Trent is ahead, but this guy is solid.

If I had to choose, I would BUY Emi Martinez for any amount of money they would ask. You can’t find a better penalty and shot-stopper right now. The amount of experience in major competitions and the amount of confidence he has, is what we desperately need in that position. I would spend a penny on any position before a keeper like Martinez. It’s now proven that Flick can do even with Barca B and C players. We can ignore buying players in those positions. But a legendary keeper is a must for a title-aiming team.

Jamie you nailed the point with Ter Stegen Barca lacks proper squad training we need a ball distributing goalie who can step up to save us in big games in UCL cus MATS can’t save us in UCL games he seems to be more of a Local Champion than European Champion and if we can’t get a top goalie we should go for Pickford of Everton or Henderson of Crystal or Leno of Fulham

Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool could be a great option too, he's a great shotstopper and young and can potentially replace Ter Stegen as he is only 25 right now. He has stated that he wants frequent game-time and Liverpool wants around 20-30m for him which is reasonably cheap for an excellent keeper with great potential.

Always on point, good stuff Jaime!…..my thoughts on the GK situation, all the best to MATS….Hope to see him b4 the season is over….He was playing a game over the weekend Not sure we can wait until January to get a new replacement GK…..don’t think Pena is ready for the level that the modern game is demanding..seems nervous in games which makes me nervous as well…..think we need to consider the free agent options….was always a fan of Keylor…..then we make another evaluation at January based on performance of the free agent….the first half of the season is where the foundation is laid for the other half,..the situation is a grave one for us not to add depth in the GK position sooner rather than later. The high defensive line can be nerve racking….sure Flick and the team will be looking to capitalize on the opportunities to improve……also, the regulars are coming back so should be able to close more of the holes in the dense

I was one of raphina’s biggest critics. His decision making was poor in the role xavi had him in, out wide 1v1, but now his strengths are coming forward. His speed, work rate, attitude, and shooting power are unmatched and im glad to see flick is making great use of him.

For me Szczesny would be the perfect solution. The fact that he's out of contract or retired or whatever is kind of crazy. He's still only 34 which isn't too old for a GK. He was lights out at the 2022 WC for Poland and the only reason they made it out of their group. For me he was the best keeper at WC even better than Martinez because Poland were woeful defensively and were allowing crazy amount of shots. And Szczesny pretty much saved them all including a couple of penalties. His shot stopping is incredible. He followed that up by having a great 22/23 season and performing heroics all over the place for a poor Juventus side and Poland in internationals. He's been at Arsenal, Roma and Juventus. So he's used to the very highest level and biggest clubs. He actually kept Allison out of the side at Roma before he moved to Juve. And at Juve he replaced the icon Buffon and did a very good job for many years. Make no mistake this is a top keeper still. Not as good as MATS with the feet, but as a shot stopper you can argue he's actually better. Especially considering MATS recent issues with near post goals creeping in on a fairly regular basis. This guy is a free out of jail card for Barca rn. Pena, Bravo, etc....These aren't keepers you can confidently rely on while you're trying to win a league title. Szczesny is.

Szczęsny better with penalties and high curve shots, Ter Stegen better with low shots, legwork, 1 o 1. Could handle not as much worse than MATS. Also he has long experience with long kickoffs directly to RL9 called: "Laga na Robercika"

One request to Flick. Against butchers from Getafe on Wednesday, please don't put Yamal in the lineup. Ideally don't include him in the squad at all. After 6 games, Getafe comitted 94 fouls. They don't want to break the net. They want to break the legs.
