If your first thought was "none of those books in the thumbnail have anything to do with each other", your instincts are good

Lmao I love your description of "none of those books in the thumbnail have anything to do with each other" because that's exactly why I clicked. But I think now it makes sense. There has to be a right balance of abstract and literal (like that awful one where Gatsby is directly on the cover, like an elementary school book) I'd be happy to see more content from you. I totally get the feeling of not being in the mental space to post often. Story of my life, bro.

I think book covers matter because the art most of the time holds meaning to the story and some covers I connect to more than others ✨

I do appreciate a lot if the book cover is nice and it looks great on my shelf, and also has great content. It is sometimes ok to have the iconic ugly ones, jf that makes sense :)

The wallpaper scheme was fluffy cumuli arrayed patternesly against an over enhancedly blue sky incredibly disorienting wallpaper that was by an unpleasant coincidence also the wallpaper and the Enfield offices of a doctor zigarelli DDS. The answer why

Hey! Great Video. I think you should do one on Giovanni's Room if you haven't already. It is a masterpiece. Shocked how no one has made a movie about it

It is definitely on my list and I'll consider starting it as soon as I can! I know I haven't been very active on here - school is super busy, and most of the time I have to read is dedicated to texts for classes. I'm also about 250 pages into Crime and Punishment, but regretting starting it, because when you don't have much time to read it's hard to motivate yourself through a longer book like that. All of this is to say, it might be a while before I can get back to videos/Giovanni's Room but it's on my mind!

movie covers are horrrrifying. i don't think i've ever seen one that i would allow on my shelf. the book you showed with the movie credits on the back... *shudder* i love the new covers of super colourful, kinda shape colour blocking books. but once you mentioned it, i realised that i also never really know what book is what and maybe that's why i've been uninspired to read new releases this year. the old man and the sea cover you have omg hahaha i was cracking up at that. makes me miss little used bookstores in thailand with those gems haha

Thailand bookstores are honestly just such a chaotic energy, it’s amazing

Not caring about it is the way I wanna be! Ugly books need love too. I find that in hindsight it mostly bothers me when I have books in a series that are different (like All the Pretty Horses and The Crossing)

I strongly dislike the modern look that has very little abstract effort put into it. The worst is models because it gives me the character’s look thus destroying my imaginative integrity 😭

I agree! Also it’s so good to see you’re still checking KZbin!!
