They are great. It just needs better writing, complex characters. I also would redo Dark Dawn- set it a few hundred years after TLA.

I feel like it's fine to wind back expectations but its still worth showing them why we love this franchise. I've seen franchises get revived within far longer gaps than this and Camelot as a company looks like they're finally making more expansive games than ever before. If they listen to us and make a new game hell yeah, if we still don't get anything well we still have three awesome JRPGs that we can share with people. Anyway thanks for always being so vocal about these games Ryrule, it means a lot!

I never thought that there were people who loved golden sun as much as me. My second console I ever got was the gb advance with golden sun and I freaking loved it. Years later I got the ds after finding out that GS was released on it. Waiting since 11 years for the next game to be released :(

Im just happy to have other ppl being fans of the game. I grew up with golden sun, and i loved the storyline. Specifically the 2 prologues, golden sun 1 and 2. Good storytelling. But the way how I see it, mario golf, tennis, or other sports games are the best bet for camelot to stay in business. It is the “safe” avenue to make a quick buck, Which i also understand, everyone needs jobs to put food on the table, but sometimes to make a good game, they just have to take a big leap. And if it doesn’t work out, at least they gave it their best shot, and they can go back to making their mario sports games. Only thing we ask for is give the fans what they want.

I honestly can't blame you. I was pretty close to hitting the "fuck it" line myself when I saw Mario Golf, and honestly the only reason I haven't crossed it yet is probably more to do with spite than optimism. Still crossing my fingers, but at this point they'll probably twist up like a pretzel before anything Golden Sun happens.

Honestly, you do you man. Nothing may be able to sway how you feel at the moment and time after time you may feel always burnt out from doing something just for it to be the literal opposite. I'm still holding out hope for the series though, and your video on Isaac for smash pushed me to support the series more as a fan.

Hey, Ryrule! It's NickStrife, how are you? I know the current events leads us to believe that maybe Camelot priority is not GS. But right now, with both Tennis and Golf out of the way, they could pretty much be working on the rumored GS reboot. Heck, maybe they started a few years ago, and they just released Tennis and Golf to raise some money and now they are 100% into GS (as Golf seems to be pretty much done). But anyway, having low expectations is probably the best way to keep waiting for GS. Going to every Direct hoping for a GS announcement can be pretty tiring and heartbreaking. Hopefully, this could change in the near future. 2021 is not over just yet. And good to see more of your videos, man! I can't wait for your TLOZ SS review!

Someone should create and release on the internet a really good hoax Golden Sun title picture with concept art similar to that of Golden Sun: The Solar Soothsayer to generate hype and discussion about the series, and making a comeback. Maybe that could get the attention again of Camelot and the Takashi brothers?

Damn it Ryan, now I actually WANT a Dr Mario: Prostate Checker game, where each character has a special effect when going in. I'm sure the Tetris 99 developers could do it though, allowing Camelot to make a new game.

I've talked about this to you before Ryrule lol but yeah I agree with you. I feel it's important for us all to be reserved and not read too much into anything. Over-eagerness and optimism can set you up for failure and this franchise is really bad about that. As someone who has been following this franchise since 2003 I should have done this a while ago myself.

I will always hope that a new GS game will be made. Always, but I’m done stressing out over the possibility. I’ll admit, seeing Mario Golf was a bit of a kick in the gut, but I got over it. It is what it is. At this point I’m a bit angry with Nintendo. Not because I haven’t gotten a new GS game, but because it seems like they don’t care about any of their IPs that aren’t Mario, Zelda, Kirby, etc. Games like F Zero, Advance Wars, Golden Sun are lost to the ether. Nintendo used to take chances. Not anymore.

Sorry, but I disagree, by the reason famicom Detective club is getting remade, a game series that hasn’t had a game since the early nineties. And Nintendo was trying to sell the switch with the popular games, now that the switch is successful, we are going to start seeing more of their more niche games, it already starting with miitopia making a comeback. Also Nintendo has tried to make Fzero games multiple times, but the developers they went to were not interested or was too busy.

Baten Kaitos, Chibi Robo, Custom Robo, the Kyle Hyde games (Cing ended up having to dispand the company and make a spiritual successor with Arks System Works), the Kururin games, Sin & Punishment, just to name a few more.

The first 2(really one game divided I guess) are still some of my favourite games. Great story and a balance of traditional zelda and jrpg. The games were also accessible unlike many other games like them at the time and it really would work just a well now. A chill adventure with some crazy end game grind options If you aren't against emulation there's still lots of fun to be had.

I verbally said "Is this what the Camelot team has been busy with instead of Golden Sun??" When Mario Golf came on screen... I'm certainly not getting my hopes up for a new Golden Sun game, but there will always be a spark of hope that it'll happen someday.

Well Camelot, already did all the once per generation Mario tennis and golf, so the only thing, they can be developing golden sun for the switch, because for this generation Mario sports are done.

i remember seeing Dark Dawn footage featuring the chandelier summon and thinking it was a fake because why would the new game bother referencing a commercial for the original GBA game that had nothing to do with that game in the first place? my hope is if we get any such announcement it will be just as confusing and enthralling.

I've given up already. If it happens I'll be surprised but I'm done pretending that something is going to happen. I'll keep enjoying the first two games forever but that's where my Golden Sun story ends I have 0 faith that we will ever get anything Golden Sun ever other than minor references in games like smash. If you guys want to keep holding onto hope then more power to you it's good to have hope but it's too stressful to keep pretending like something is going to happen

I would say that it seems probable for an hd re-release for switch someday. As for a full main line game I'm doubtful. Unless much of the same crew is even working at Camelot I doubt it would truly feel the same even if they could. I am much more optimistic that some 3rd party somewhere will likely craft a fan game, or a game based of similar concepts. That just feels like what we could most likely expect.

Personally I’m going to wait to e3 to see if anything happens, because golden sun was usually released later in the year, in August and October to be exact, except for lost age in June. So we will see. Also you forgot the eventually, as it will happen, you can read it as a pessimist or optimist, it can be a pessimistic as many more years or as in more than 6 months, because Mario golf is soon as in a few months.

Honestly? Get RPG Maker, Unity, Unreal Engine, whatever. Assemble a little team, make your own shit inspired by Golden Sun. Make something awesome, maybe. That's what I'm trying and it's probably more productive than continuing to wait for a new game in the series.

I feel the Golden Sun community greatly overestimates how loud they think they are versus how loud they really are. They're about as loud as a fart in a gust of wind.

Well comparatively to the Mario community, sure. No one is saying that the Golden Sun community is one of Nintendo's largest and loudest. That said when you consider how many games there has been and the time span between releases, it's noticeable how loud this community can be. Especially when you consider the strange amount of love and respect the Golden Sun games got in Smash Ultimate. For something small and niche and even without a character on the roster there's a surprising amount of Golden Sun content. And again, when you compare it to something like the Mario Sports community or even the Xenoblade or Fire Emblem community the Golden Sun community is quite small. But for it's size I feel it's louder than most people give it credit for.
