Unlike a lot of videos about sound production - your video talks about volume levels for the listener. Is there a video you have made focusing on recommends sound level goals? With active speakers - do you control it more with the speaker controls or the main fader?

Sound level goals are very relative to the environment and to the person requesting a certain sound level (SPL -- Sound Pressure Level) for their event. There's also limitations of the sound system and which SPL rating is used to measure the sound. Because of all this, we have not made a video specifically covering SPL goals. For the active speakers, we set their volume levels (the cabinets volume knob) at the manufactures recommended position (which is usually -0- db). The speaker volume is then controlled from the console. Once we set the level on the speaker cabinet, we don't need to adjust it again for the event.
