Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

Oh my, I'm so happy you are doing it this way. The song is from the 1978 breakout album fear of music. And it was produced by Brian eno. And it's when Tina Weymouth on the base was starting to switch over from just playing with a pic to learning to play with her fingers and everything about this song is amazing. I didn't think there would be any way to replicate it live, and yet that was the perfect choice as they're setting up the stage and building up for this huge presentation. For me it's such a haunting and Beautiful song but it still has his Whimsical sometimes sarcastic humor in it, but mostly from a distance, it evokes some pretty strong emotions underneath.

Absolutely wonderful format and please keep going, it's a great idea. I spent a lot of time in my high school and early college years listening to these songs and by the albums and we would play them for each other and some of the songs would be on the radio and dance to them at parties and clubs and whatnot. And then a bit later when that concert movie came out in the theaters, I went and saw it three times in different theaters and all of them knew, and they cranked their audio systems to the maximum. I mean, they knew that's what you had to do. I had watched other movies at these theaters and they were never that loud, not even action movies, but they cranked it for this and people were dancing in the aisles and down at the front below the screen and wow. But I deeply love all those studio recordings; each one is a gem to me. Plus all the ones that aren't in this show either.

Love how you're doing this. Great choice. I agree with you, I like the live recording of this one, and enjoyed that I was able to better follow the lyrics, live. I've listened to a handful+ of the live Stop Making Sense cuts, but probably less than half. Going to enjoy this along with you.

Still, to this day...every time I come home from any stressful place or event, I put on the headphones --KZbin, and decompress for hours, sometimes!! Thanks, I LOVE the TH and this song!! David Byrne is genius!

Listen closely to the excellent bass lines here by Tina Weymouth. Though she learned guitar at 14, she was dating her future husband Chris Frantz, the drummer, and driving for them, when they couldn't find a bass player, so she learned the bass, and ended up in the Rock & Roll hall of fame with her elegant, clean lines.

I've always looked at this song as one if supreme irony where everyone talks how going to heaven is some wonderful life conclusion, but heaven turns out to be the most boring bar in the universe where the song playing repeats itself over and over or where a kiss has no further development and the whole place runs on a loop. I love the 2 song studio and live study you're doing. Def looking fwd to it all. You're going to have a great time.

Thank You for Sending Me an Angel is the 3rd song from Stop Making Sense. Did you notice that the stage was being set up during the song Heaven? This process continues with each song until the stage is finished.

"Cities" and "Big Business"/"I Zimbra" are included in my DVD. These songs were part of the concert but cut from the movie version of Stop Making Sense. I never bothered to check when these songs fall in the sequence of concert songs.

I agree. I've always enjoyed the Stop Making Sense, live version of this song more than the studio version. Not my favorite Talking Heads song, but still very good and very easy on the ears. ❤✌

I have always felt the song is saying how terribly boring a perfect place like Heaven would be. Nothing happens, they play your favorite song all night long, at parties everyone arrives and leaves at exactly the same time. When the party is over it just starts again, exactly the same as before, same with the perfect kiss that is always perfect. No drama, no surprises, no changes, just perfect, endless boredom . Aka Hell.

Nice reaction video, Shawn. Your approach of working through Stop Making Sense song by song is interesting, and I'm glad you realize that in order to really appreciate a live performance of a song, it's essential to have heard the song as it was originally created. You'll love the energy and joy of the band in Stop Making Sense. If playing rock music is that much fun, I don't know why anyone would ever stop! Do yourself a favor after you've completed your studio/live song by song series on Stop Making Sense. Make sure you sit and enjoy the entire concert from start to finish. It's an uplifting experience.

Stop Making Sense is a great film but there's live footage from pretty much every tour/year. CBGB 1975, The Kitchen 1976, Old Grey Whistle Test 1977, Entermedia Theatre '78, Mudd Club '79, Rome 1980, and Capitol Theatre 11-4-80, US Festival '82, etc.

Can we forgo the weird labels your source insists putting on every song? Who "considers" these songs this or that? I've never associated this with "country rock". Kinda annoying. Otherwise, great concept and reaction. Keep it going. It gets *exponentially* better. 👍👍
